South Park on its day is BY FAR the funniest programme ever made

south park is pretty funny

not having an american show as funniest ever tho..

i vote trigger happy tv for the most laughs in the shortest space of time or fawlty towers for the highest quality laughs

TBH I've only really seen about the first 3-4 series properly.

I love the respect mah authoritah one

Didn't even start being properly funny till about series 6.

South Park is not just the funniest cartoon on tv, it is the greatest tv show of all time and is in fact probably the pinnacle of human creativity.

The only people that can beat Matt and Trey are Matt and Trey.

Team America was better.

Best Randy moment ever

i dunno randy can quite often be relied on:

internet porn, smug alert, the before the day after tommrow, how to eat with your arse.

Randy is by far the funniest out of the adults.

Cartman is a maniac.

when my big lad left home and a few dvds and bits n bobs were left lying about, i extracted his South Park box set before sending the rest round. they're MINE. all mine. i was watching the Radio Head one last night. :D

'i'm a young, supple 8 year old boy'

South Park's madness pisses all over those other cartoons imo - Family Guy, The Simpsons (and i'm a big fan of Homer).

i thought Team America was good too kabbes but judging a film against a series doesn't really work for me.

i do love south park

but i must say i wasn't that keen on team america... funny yes but some how i felt is was empty

i think what makes south park so good is the charactors in it team america had no cartmans or butters or randy

Oh dear that was going so well until you mentioned trigger happy TV...

Shippou - agreed I like Team America and it has some sublime bits...mainly involving Hans Bwix ;) but I can't love it for some reason. I think it's still the naggin doubts as to whether it's really satire or just plain dumb. But that is also what makes Parker and Stone interesting

i think their type of humor works exceptional well in the episodic form with short amounts of time spent on one particular subject but numerous episodes available to build character development

I love the one were Eric invades the south, restores the Confederacy and attempts to secede from the USA!

The Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Scientology and Timmy 2000! episodes were all absolute vintage.

Haven't watched that many of the latest series ones but look foward to seeing the infamous 'internet is down' one, already mentioned here.

Regarding characters, apart from the superb Cartman, Butters is my favourite. There's something about both his voice and naivety that's just captivating.

Oh, another episode FTW: the one with the pants-stealing gnomes :D

I hated the eariler South Parks as they were just gross out humour (Mr Hanky - the Christmas poo? Really?)

But now these later series are more topical they are hilarious.

"Cartman can't come up to play as he is grounded for trying to exterminate the Jews last week"

I am working my way through 36 recent episodes on my Sky+ box as Comedy Central seem to show at least several episodes a day and I can't keep up.

I just watched the one were Cartman became ginger and he held a Nuremberg rally style thing at the Airport Hilton.

I love the homeless one as well. Recently noticed that at the end, when they're singing california love to all the homeless people, Cartman goes "In the city....of long beach, right by Matt's ho-ous-e, you can hang if you're homeless" :D
