Soundtrack for when Thatcher dies

Stand Down Margaret - The Beat

Damn, "beat" me to it.

Not because I'll be happy when she's dead, I'd sooner see her live as long as possible to witness for herself the fact she utterly failed.

And I don't really go for the celebrating of some irrelevant old trout popping her cloggs when inhuman scum like Kissinger still walk the earth.

But it's such a great piece of music, it's like "Free Nelson Mandela", such a great record, but you'd feel silly dancing to it now.

Personally I'd quite like it to be 'On a rope' - Rocket from the crypt....

Im not counting on it though :(

The next Peppermint Iguana Radio Show, on Tuesday 16th April, will look back at the legacy of former prime minister who sadly passed away quietly on 8th April.

Love her or loathe her you cannot ignore her and the legacy of her polices trickles down the legs of society even now, over twenty years since her departure from Number Ten.

One of the lasting legacies will be the vast amount of music inspired by her, more than any other politician in the last 100 years. For this special show we will be looking back at some of those songs and remembering the moments that inspired them.

Over the last week we have listened to enough songs about Maggie to fill two shows, so we are going to have to leave a lot of interesting music out. As things stand the play list is likely to include artists as diverse as The Kitchens of Distinction, Billy Bragg, Burnt Cross, Bad Sam, Pete Wyle, Captain Ska, Black Star Dub Collective and the Dead Kennedy’s.

To listen, log on to www.dapperfm.co.uk from 8pm o’clock (UK time) on Tuesday 16th APRIL. Alternatively, listen in via tunein app http://tunein.com/radio/Dapper-FM-s114625/
