killer b

That vase.
another head-to-head soundclash from some guys with more mp3s than sense. as usual, it's a blind tasting - tracklists and names will be revealed after the final result has been announced.

we'll give it 3 weeks for people to listen and vote - please do so...

lets get on with it anyway...

mix 1: music is the food of love - a rhythm & blues heavy selection of fine obscurities, all with a culinary theme. delicious!

mix 2: don't fuck with the master tempo - in the words of our disk jockey friend: "I'd like you all to think of this as turbo minimal. It's what happens when you let a bored person loose with a bunch of relatively mellow tunes. It's time to nod your head and get more and more excited as the beats get faster, harder and more frenzied, until a blinding orgasmic climax. In fact, this could have been called The Sex Mix. But I'm way to classy for that. Enjoy :)"

mix 3: ginger merkin mix - this one's all over the place (in a good way, mind) - taking in a whole load of funky shit, some new wave, hip-hop, garage and rockabilly. ruling.

mix 4: is there anybody out there? - drawing heavily on an 80s cosmic/balearic tip, this quality summertime mix makes you wish a beach or a nightclub was close at hand...

mix 5: hideous radio - i guess you know what to expect. massive jungle/mashup selection. big up!

mix 6: climax of moonraker - again, over to the contributor... "Firebrands, lo-fi love, death, tears, and garage rock ablaze. Ranters, shakers, misfits, the dead-eyed and the disillusioned. -COME ON AND GET SOME!

(NB: Malcontents may unsettle during delivery.)"

mix 7: hot club de surbiton - a sweet li'l jazz mix, heavy on the gypsy swing - a fine accompaniment for a summer evening i'll wager.

so... poll to follow very shortly. listen! vote! all criticism, constructive and otherwise, is welcome. :)

any broken links etc, let me know asap.

thanks to all the contributors btw - a fine selection from everyone involved imo.

Just had a very quick skim of them all. Really looking forward to giving these the proper listen they deserve over the next week or two.

Cheers all! :)

w00t, good timing, just on my way to Barcelona for some noise. It's going to be Primavera festival vs Urban for the next few days.

Er, is that an anonymous poll this time 'round?

<...all seven caddish entrants begin twirling their moustaches...> :hmm::D

Can we really not rely on the honour of the participants? The prospect of a negative score displeases me...

1 & 2 are both excellent. really enjoying the warm electronics of 2 atm...

i'll be loading them onto my shuffle for a better listen tomorrow.

Bump it for the Sunday evening crew.
Check these! There's some excellent music waiting to be discovered in here

Listened to a few, love the Brick in the Wall remix, Hot Club mix is ace for Sunday afternoon pottering as well :)

bloody hell - it's worse than the euro elections this - i count 20 downloads, and 2 votes. :D

can't complain too much mind, seeing as i haven't yet voted myself...

Gosh, I've not done very well at voting or listening to these yet... have mostly enjoyed what I've heard, but as ever I am having trouble swallowing the funkier stuff.

'-Nobody likes us, but we don't care...'

#6 is my favourite, #3 has some great tracks, but #1 and #7 are just about neck and neck for me at the mo'.

Might well change my mind yet, of course. I'll vote in the next day or so, anyway. :)

-How's that for decisiveness, eh? :D

BUMP!!
Only today left to vote.
Go with your gut. Or something.
Should be at least 5-10 more votes coming (based on downloads).
So come on

mini-bump
