The late Nancy Marchand is brilliant in the first two seasons; whining needy and manipulative, she is the ultimate matriarch.

Love it at the end of S1 when she conspires with Junior to bump T off.

The best murder scene in the series, imo, is the one where Tony garrottes that guy, then looks up at the airliner passing overhead.

Most violent: Ralfie beating the hooker to death outside the Bing. Honourable mention: scene where Tony and Christopher saw up Ralfie's body with power tools.

I found Ralfie's wig more disturbing than the subsequent dismemberment...
