Sopranos Series 6 or why C4 are a bunch of cockteasers

Unfortunately, the Great British Public does not display the good taste that the Urbanites above do - if it did, great series like 6 Feet Under and Sopranos would be shown at more convenient times. Sadly, they get shown at later slots cos there isn't the audience for it. Because there are so many more channels these days and more people have access to them, C4 can't afford to put on a show that may start off with low figures and then let the audience build from there. It has to be an immediate hit, like Desperate Housewives to get a decent slot.
There is also the violence factor - shows like Sopranos and Oz have way too much violence for a 10pm slot on a terrestrial channel, so they'll never be primetime shows.

To be fair, there probably isn't a lot of point in showing the 5th or 6th series of Sop. or 6FU at prime time , cos theres no way a newcomer could figure out wtf was going on

The Sopranos is massively popular tho, and with an audience that advertisers love! Obviously the language and violence do mean it has to be on late tho.

And not showing the final season of a series you've shown the rest of is disgraceful tho.

It ain't though. It may have invaded popular culture but it's still a cult show.
Not in the same league as Sex & The City and Desperate Housewives - it's cult viewing, not prime time viewing.

I cant find any viewing figures, but that doesnt sound completely unreasonable. Tho most things on C4 are still cult viewing, so....uhh, something.

and E4 again - hopefully this ne will get a 'proper' transmission as well I hope (esp as I cant set the video to tape E4)

What are the chances of Lost being screwed over now that Big Brother is starting soon. 10-11 is prime BB slot isn't it?

I've watched up to episode 8 of the new series. It's a cracker.
You think? I've been finding the middle episodes a little underwhelming, however there are one or two storylines that look like they will explode over the last three episodes!

Nope - the 10 o clock slot is always saved for the big shows

I've been watching them two at a time which I think helps.

Edit: Can't do spoiler tags on here so can't ask your opinion on something...

I've been known to watch 4 or 5 episodes in a stretch! I haven't with this series, just download them on a Monday and watch them, think I'll have to watch the whole lot again!

Can anybody help me with a track I'D please?

Series 6,episode 9:When Christopher has his wasted moment,a track called 'Dolphins in the Sea' is playing.I'm aware Linda Ronstadt & Beth Orton have done versions but this was a male singer, sounded a bit like Johnny Cash.
Anybody any ideas who it is?
