Songs With Great Intros

I'd go with the brief but telling approach:

Cheers - Louis MacNeice

If you're after loud and stupid than try either Iggy's Pop's live "Sweet Sixteen" off TV Eye (includes an echoing PA annoucing ''ladies and gentlemen Iggy Pop!", followed by the worlds loudest cowbell) or The Dictators "Twin Tub Man" off Go Girl Crazy (OTT volume 11 bragging by Handsome Dick Manitoba followed by some wonderful rock guitar).

Blackened - Metallica
Black eye, purple sky - Therapy? (Just that little squeal of feedback, then - BOOM)
Up All Night (Epic rmx) - John B

For anyone that likes naff folksy prog wank (me), I LOVE this intro, although the song deteriorates pretty quickly. :(

She Sells Sanctuary - Cult
Killing Moon - Bunnymen
Transmission - Joy Divison
Born Slippy - Underworld
Suspect Device - SLF
Everyday Is Like Sunday - Morrissey
Public Image -PIL
Sympathy For The Devil - Rolling Stones
Gay Bar - Electric Six
Made of Stone - Stone Roses
On The Ropes - Wonder Stuff
Smells Like Teen Spirt & Come As You Are - Nirvana
Northern Lites - SFA

ah fuck it, she won't see this :D:hmm:

when we were dancing like twats to it, at the Welsh PROD, she shouted in my ear 'this is led zep innit?' - and I looked at her with a deeply scornful (and quite frankly, shocked) look on my face, and shouted back 'NOOO - IT'S RAM JAM '

:D
