songs to be played at a wedding ceremony

Wedding fail.

On a slightly different note of fail my dad tells a story - think it happened to a friend of his - about a couple in the early 90s who wanted 'Everything I Do, I Do It For You' played as they left the church. There's no accounting for taste I suppose ... but anyway, they asked the organist if he knew it, describing it as 'that song from the Robin Hood movie.'
'Oh yes, I know it,' he said brightly, and they left satisfied.
Needless to say, when the registers were signed they processed out of the church with the organ merrily playing 'Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen...'
They weren't very happy, apparently. :D

The first few bars of the album version of 'Time is Tight' by Booker T and the MG's. That's what love sounds like.

There are some great choices here! :D

Mr K doesn't know it yet, but I'm angling for us to walk out to 'Darling, Darling, Darling' by the Meters.

Thank you. Looking at the lyrics, it's clear to me why he chose it.

The choice of Leonard Cohen was mine, because I absolutely love it.

My mum said "Why on earth do you want that?!" and I said "It's my wedding and I'll have what I want".

I don't see MY songs as being any odder than most other peoples!

I thought it was nice.

fair play, it's a beautiful. beautiful song it's just that it's about the end of a great love -which seemed an odd choice for a wedding.

odd isn't the same as bad ;) you could have had 'Angels'

in fact.....

TERMITE MAN! - Have 'Angels' by Robbie! :D :D :D

I'd rather die . Really I would and I don't want you getting any funny ideas. That song is not to be heard at any point in the wedding ceremony or reception or I will kill and being put in prison for an understandable murder is not a good start to a marriage .

I see.

well I know you, like both of us, will have been moved by the recent break-up of the defining rock band of our era.

lighters aloft for 'Champagne Supernova' then ;)

I don't mind a bit of oasis . If I stick my fingers in my ear I can pretend I'm listening to muffled slade then !
