Songs That Give You The Shivers

What type of shivers are we on about here?

Great feelings down your spine type ones, because the tune affects you so much -- and in a great way? :)

or

Fucking scary shivers, because the lyrics/tune together freak you out in a 'scared as hell' or 'creepy as fuck' way?

Either thread meaning could be the case, given the wide variety of tunes mentioned earlier ... nine years earlier ...

There are a few that spring to mind straight away.

Stop it you're killing me - Therapy?

The Cause - Nofx

Justin time - Sweet in pocket.

Coldplay - fix you :p

Whats yours?

my post a creepy as fuck shivers

i cant answer this with real 'shivery' feeling because the two artists i've studied for the past five years offer the snuggliest hugs, like what Santa, your Mam, Granny and Great, Great Grandma would give on the most freezing bitterest day!!!!

In real life snuggles its Billie Holiday's 'These Kisses, He's funny that way. George Gershwins,'The man i love' by Sarah Vaughan seems amazing until you hear Billie's scratchy version and then you forget a lady called Sarah Vaughan ever existed. And Judy Garland's version of 'Embraceable you' is another great standard. Exodus by Bob Marley (preferably a live version) never fails to amaze me, as does 'Confession of the Heart,' 'Anastasia' live by Prince in concert, and 'Christopher Tracey's Parade.' It sounds like what you might hear on the way to Heaven. Rolling Stones review of that album is hilarious, they say 'Seriously, its Godlike' which is true! Stumble on the tumble, Nice work if you can get it, on piano by Thelonious Monk with that childish, spiky, style!

The amazingly apt "I'll shiver the whole night through" line from Nirvana's version of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night?"

I was watching that "Montage Of Heck" doc a few nights ago and I had goose bumps and the hair on my arms stood on end. Gets me every time, even now. Fucking brilliant.

This song makes me cry & laugh almost at the same time.

The laughter & tears send shivers all over. Too much wine & too much song...

How could i forget?? The whole Safe as Milk album is spine-tingling. Its my real 'go to' album while cooking. I love playing the whole thing and sipping wine in the kitchen....this number gives me shivers every time. The drop with the hornz is just heartbreaking.

I honestly think Close to me is one of the best songs EVER written. Gives me instant shivers, what a masterpiece.
