Songs in English but with foreign language passages

Oh, I heard a very bad version by Sting of Ne Me Quitte Pas. His French accent was terrible. He shouldnt sing in French. But his Spanish version of Fragile isnt too bad.

The Police - J'Aurais Toujours Faim De Toi (Ghost In The Machine album, i think. French accent - nil points)

Visage's Fade To Gray is the first that pops to mind. I remember that New Wave and Disco groups had a thing for introducing random pieces of other languages into their songs.

I reckon most bands with members (not drummers, obviously) of mixed native language will eventually feature some kind of dual language. I think The Stranglers have one, but can't remember the title right now, Arcade Fire have a few, and I think Asobi Seksu has one.

Soy un perdador.
I'm a loser baby
So why don't you kill me.

I still love you
Je ne sais pas pourquoi
I still want you
Je ne sais pas pourquoi

You're welcome.

"Portrait of a Girl" by Metric, one of my all time favourite bands.

It reminds me of early Propaganda recordings, lush textures and smart strong female lead vocals.

Emily Haines is an amazing woman, check it out for yourself, I can't link from this phone...

I love that track - played it to some French pals and they were utterly bemused, the accent is unfathomable!

Funnily enough, Libertango is NOT a Grace Jones song, she merely covered it.

They get mad in Buenos Aires when you link one of their anthems to Grace Jones... everyone outside Argentina thinks she wrote it!

David Bowie's "Heroes" has a French and German chorus on my maxi 7" version...

Anyone mention Psycho killer - Talking Heads yet?

'Ce que j'ai fait, ce soir-là
Ce qu'elle a dit, ce soir-là
Réalisant mon espoir
Je me lance vers la gloire ... OK
NYA YA YA YA YA YA YA YA YA YA YA YA
We are vain and we are blind
I hate people when they're not polite'

Bill (the younger the better) Wyman..

Je suis un rock star Je avais un residence
Je habiter la A la South of France
Voulez vous Partir with me
And come and rester la with me in France.

Somewhere in the house I have the bootlegs of the entire French and German versions. It actually works bloody well in German, French not so much...

There's an Ultravox track - Mr X - that has a German version on a B-side, somewhere...

3 Mustaphas 3 must have crossed-over in mid-song fairly often?

I do remember that stumbling across them playing a gig in Philadelphia, of all places, in at least six languages was a reminder of civilisation :)

To be fair mine is a boot leg.

The cover is basically cut out from Smash Hits and glued to a piece of card.

I was robbed, tis true.
