its been a strange wildlife week all round so far tho .. the dogs that aren't just for xmas but for life have all been turing up at the refuge i work at..got pure bred puppies of all sorts, staffies, great danes , dalmations, border collies....!!

then this morning my neighbour confiscated a kitten that the kids going to school had been playing football with so i had to sort that out ( i think i'm becoming the mad cat lady )

and then!!!!! as i was hanging up the washing this bloke in a shirt and tie, very hot and sweaty came running throgh my garden asking me if i had seen the deer!!

a deer i said yes a deer apparantly!! a huge buck was on the loose and causing chaos in town !! well i hadn't seen it and even if i had i wouldn't have told........but about half an hour later i heard a single shot and so assume said deer was caught.

Which seems to be an indication of an awareness that *some people* might consider barking to be annoying to the point of wanting to take action to do something to prevent it being an ongoing problem.

No. I never said that. Again, you were the person who mentioned barking.

I simply stated that dog owners may assume that their dogs are relatively quiet because they are when the owners are around, but when their owners aren't around dogs can be pain in the arse loud and annoying barkers.

For the record, I never tried to poison my neighbours annoying dog. But I did report the noise nuisance to the landlord. In any event, keeping a rescue dog in a first floor flat with no garden, when you're a bit of a DJ who spends a lot of time out and leaves the dog without company and fretting and barking strikes me as something that dog lovers might object you. I'm not a dog lover, and even I thought it was off to treat a former rescue dog like that, aside from the noise nuisance impact it was having on me, personally.

I read a story in yesterdays paper about a woman who rescued two puppies from some kids who were trying to set fire to them... one of the puppies has since been found suffering a hernia where it had been kicked.

Terrible.. but at least the cat will have a noble scar. My one just got bitten through his ear in a scrap with another cat. And he got peed on. But it's ok if another cat does it. Its a cat thing. But this kind of stuff is nasty...
