Solfest - who's going?

:)

Just reviving this to ask what people plan to do re getting there. Gates open at 9 on the Friday morning, and it'll take us about 3 hours to get there - not sure whether to go night before and see if we can get in any camp sites round there or set off at dawn and hope for a decent pitch.

What you lot doing?

You wanna give him a nudge mate

We've not got our tickets yet but the site reckons they're coming out in batches of 40

I'll probably just leave very early Friday morning. I'm hoping for a pitch a bit more level than the one I had last weekend  @ me for not realising I'd keep sliding off me bed :)

My Hebden friends Flip and Lisa, who are transporting me in their campervan, are planning on heading for the area on the Thursday, and camping somewhere on the coast near the festival site --I don't know where this is exactly but the campsite is near a pub ... :D

They're also going to buy some small barrels of beer :D

This Thursday plan is going to cause me a few logistical problems, I'm scrabbling for that extra (unexpected) day's leave, and I'd have to come up to HB late on the Wednesday after work ..

Heard back from him re passes for another festie so should be fine for Beatherder:)

Probably going up early on Friday but it will only take a few hours from Lancaster. Presume we can take booze onto the site as long as it's not glass bottles?

Right, well, I'm not sure my pocket can cope with an extra nights camping, so think I'll be doing a dawn run then. And I was rather hoping for a pitch that doesn't leave me feeling seasick for days afterwards this time :D I'm taking me bloody airbed and all this time!

Looks good on the drainage front though, the silloth site - it's sand so no quagmires even if it lashes it down

I'm now suffering quite bad post-glastonbury blues, and this is keeping me going :)

I was planning on getting there the day before & camping nearby as well, a mornng run to there would mean my going right through the night.

So if there is any meeting-up offsite, please count me-in. :)

I don't want to sound uncharitable but it really is time The Levellers fucked off and died, isn't it?

Just for the general benefit and wellbeing of humanity.

Mingy get

I used to bloody love them, and it'll be a little nostalgia-fest for me...one of their songs quite literally had a hand in changing my whole life 11 years ago

Pity.

There was me hoping for loads of ammo to throw at you over the coming years.

I don't actually know any other Levellers songs, apart from that one about the Beanfield. With the fiddles on it. And shit hair. You know the one.

I'm most upset. :(

You've ruined my weekend. :(
