I have litterpicking working blags available for this if anyone wants... pm's or via the official chanels at network recycling.;)

Rechecked the forum and Dean reckons theres a reasonable possibility that the Thursday camping might return!
If not, we have stayed every year in Allonby, on the coast so lovely long deserted beach, sand dunes and views across to Scotland, a good pub with nice ale/food. Good campsite with a swimming pool etc..abit of a quiet site but we still had a good evening and sat out listening to them soundchecking the dance tent!!

We are now deffo gonna camp over on the Mon and Tues night anyway, and am really looking forward to it :cool:
 
Well, decisions have finally been made, I've declined the German trip and we are going to Solfest - Tickets booked.

Just looked at the 'Dogs in Space' chill line-up...marvellous, but you wouldn't expect much else from Michael Dog!! Especially excited about Tetchi, Celtarabia and Mahigribeat!!! :cool:
 
I've just bought a ticket :hmm: You are camping at that place overnight on the Thursday aren't you mr fish??
 
That was the original idea but everything is in a bit of flux ATM. Our initial idea of a short break to Solfest with a couple of days camping on the way back has now grown to a two-week holiday with Solfest at its centre. That should be make or break no? :o

I'm still banking on the night before at Silloth to prepare/shower/shop etc though. :)
 
Well, I'm likely to avoid the yogurt weaving gemini this year :(

dog minder can't do it and all kennels in the northern hemisphere are fully booked due to bleeding bank holiday :mad:

Can't your neighbour help out? Or get your son back from wherever?? Temporarily of course ;)

Nope, neighbour now lives in Guernsey, one son in Australia til December and the other son in Brighton but by Solfest time he will be studying in Copenhagen.

My friends are all nice people but they are not really dog people and I wouldn't trust them to look after my dog :(

We are still hoping for a plan but it doesn't seem likely that we'll come up with one.

Nooooo! There cannot be a Solfest without you Shirl! :eek: The very idea - it's unthinkable. :(

Is there not a kennels near Solfest itself?
 
Just checked the kennels we use and they say they have a space.

Its Sunnyside Kennels just past the Sportsmans at Kebs, really nice people and good clean secure kennels..we would not put our two anywhere else!!

They have pencilled in one kennel from 27th - 31st, just call 01706 815321 and say its the dog Phil mentioned..

Solfest campsite open Thursday 27th from 2pm till 9pm...YAY!!:cool: Park van, open beer, get wheelhub, light fire, open more beer...

Well, the good news is that I will have my car so I will be able to drive to this. The bad news is that I lose my job in September - but at least I have the car for solfest :D:cool:

Hmm...I'm gonna email Bob and see if he fancies going on the Thursday night

Were the village green food places open on Thursday last year, does anyone know?

Couldn't you go to Allonby(think that's the name, pogo can verify) for hot rolls or a chippie before you go on site?
Aren't you taking any food?
 
We're going to be arriving around lunchtime on Friday, don't you lot of early birds go peaking before then :mad:
