You feel arrogance because that is who you are. You cannot hide it behind the persona you like to project, that you are enlightened and wise. I see right through you.

No i'm not telling you that at all. I was offering my insights to the forum in general. My only replies to you personally are in the position of defending my character which you consistently seek to besmirch on this website.
You would also do well to dwell upon the difference between 'implication' and 'interpretation'. You're getting confused between the two, and imposing your own past experiences onto me by way of a judgment on who i am and what i'm like.
You just cannot stick to the topic. You're stuck in your interpretations, then have the temerity to call your subjective slant on things my own personal implications.
That is pure arrogance, and just why i send a bit back your way. You are simply asking for it. I am happy to deliver.

Any impartial observer here will recognise the evidence you have supplied that backs up my claim that you have a closed mind. If you will kindly take the time to go back to your first post replying to me, you will see all you were doing was passing negative judgment on me, totally ignoring my contributions. It thus went on in the same manner, as it always does on these threads on this forum.
As soon as you see a name, your ability for objective thinking is nullified.
You should stop wanting other posters to be the posters you want them to be. Stop imposing yourself on others. Let them be who they are without the need to resort to ridiculous and offensive character judgments about them; people you just have no idea about.

Yes mate, i know what you think of my contributions, you tell me just about every thread i come to on this forum. And not once, but several times.
I'm not taking anything personally here, i have very little time for all this character rubbishing bullshit that goes on. But when i'm in the mood i will counter what you say, simply because such rude language towards me is unacceptable in a civil society.
You oughta realise that if you perceive arrogance from me towards you then it is simply because i'm returning your serve back into your court. When you appear on each and every thread i post on in this forum and immediately rubbish what i say and who i am, then why do you get surprised about perceiving arrogance from me? Agreed again, and i know i have succumbed into the thing i don't like, but i feel it's my last option to try and stop these people rubbishing me any time i come up with my ideas in life just because they have perceived i'm trying to put myself above others. On a philosophy forum this is especially disappointing that misperceptions can be the platform for insults.
I know it's no argument to say i didn't start it, but there you are, that's my defence here!
Perhaps the thread can get back on track at some stage. But really, philosophy is nothing but people trying to work out this life we have and speaking out those ideas and experiences. Why is it that some folk who come across ideas they don't like resort to ugly insults and rubbishing of those holding different ideas based on their own different experiences in life?

Philosophy runs parallel with language. Philosophy uncovers the highs and lows of language. It highlights the glory of language and the limitations of it.
So it seems to me that philosophy is a necessary vehicle for getting to the higher level its always attained to, yet part of the conditions for getting to that higher level require the dropping of philosophy. I think this happens when language and philosophy exhaust themselves in the thinker.
Philosophy is a necessary condition, but so is letting it burn itself out. Because, like with language, philosophy cannot provide the answers. Both are too slippery, and therefore cannot deliver the philosopher to his/her main questions.
Hence why i earlier suggested that we had to drop the questions before we can find the answers.

For me it isn't an either/or question. I think both disciplines have their merits. Some sociologists and social theorists like those of The Frankfurt School or Foucault or Baudrillard could also be described as philosophers.

And philosophy in turn can become meaningless. It serves a great purpose, but will burn itself out after the nth degree has been reached by its practitioners. It is a tool, but no more than that. It can only be used in order to reach beyond language, and the limitations imposed on our thinking by language.
Philosophy leads to the inescapable discovery that language limits our lives. At that point it must be killed! Either it goes, or we go.
