Sven is a great manager but he can only get us realy as far as a semi-- we need a manager who can take us all the way.

did any one see Hiddink knock over some women after a game at PSV

I think Cappello has been one of the finest managers in Europe for over a decade and would be a great asset to England. Not sure how good his English is though, which would go against him. And if he has any skeletons in his closet he'd be daft to get involved as the press would destroy him as they've helped destroy Eriksson. One thing's for sure, there isn't a current English manager who should be allowed anywhere near the top job.

What has Big Sam done wrong? In a different financial era, he would have won something by now. It's not his fault Bolton's achievements are capped by the gross inequality of the self perpetuating european qualification.

Taken every club forward he's ever managed.

Gets the most out of players others don't seem to manage to.

I can only presume he's not pretty enough for the airbrushed sachirine world of team playboy as I shall refer to england only this once.

I really, really, really, really, really want Stuart Pearce to be England manager.

But not yet.

Maybe that Dutch fella next, I'm not really bothered & it doesn't really matter cos in reality whoever it is will just be keeping Stuart Pearce's seat warm for him.

It pisses me off when people say we need an English manager. Why? There's no obvious English successor and Sven the Foreigner has proven that you don't need to be English to be good.

Guus all the way for me.

lets see.......i dont give a flying fuck about the England team, and i hate Bolton with a passion......

so, lets fuck both of them up and appoint Allardyce. It would be hilarious.

Guus knows what he's doing, he's dealt with intrusive media (try managing Real Madrid!) and he seems to always get the best out of underperforming players. Christ, he made Clarance Seedorf look like the world's best defensive midfield player FFS!

Just a thought and don't know if its been mentioned but would it be to a plus for the new manager to at least be at the World Cup?

Even if its not a public capacity

(No..McClaren or Hiddink already there jokes thankyou!)

psycho, psycho, psycho...

though maybe he is a couple of years or so off being *ready* yet? but then, when are you ever ready? klinsman had no experience....and experience does not promise success anyway...

psycho, psycho, psycho...

I did NOT vote for Alan Curbishley. I voted for the less embarrassing option of Mark Lawrenson, until it was changed. I would like it to be put on record that I cannot stick Alan Curbishley, purely for the fact that he can't pronounce 'th' properly.

McLaren has just signed an extension with 'boro, which I suppose rules him out of a permanent role with England. Hopefully anyway. The world of football is a funny owd place.

McClaren, in my thoughts was never in the running, he's too much of the current regime.

It'd be like asking Tord Gripp to stay on

I would love Sam Allardyce to get the job for all the wrong reason, mainly for his passionate heart on his sleave interview technique, his never say die mentality, his dress sense and he his from my home town as well which is always heart-warming!....oh and he is English which would bring something to the team spirit.

BUT I dont think that is enough for the biggest job in football so maybe a european master such as Hiddink or Cappello would be the ideal choice. They have all the experience of dealing with every kind of big match happenings + dealing with big name/big ego footballers and the media which is so important in this day and age.

So to put it in a nutshell Hiddink or Cappello with Big Sam as number 2.

All the foreign managers are the only managers there who have managed top clubs with top players and playing quality watchable football.

After watching how Fat face Sam organised his players against Liverpool, people obviously want to watch the England team use diving as a tactic.

The rest are all one big comedy option.

If was forced to choose an Englishman, I'd go for Peter Taylor (another manager not on the list!) - His record for the under 21's speaks for itself and none of the other English candidates have international experience.

Overall I'd go for scolari - Won the world cup when manager of Brazil, and took Portugal to the Euro final
