Poppycock.. Upson, Parker and Lucas Niel are all superb functioning as a 'team' especially over the last few games.

So far we have held Arsenal Liverpool and Chelsea on their own turfs and much of that is to do with the defensive teamwork built around those players. Upfront Carlton cole is probably the most improved player in the premiership and so much so is being tagged by Cappello for the England squad in favour of one Emile Heskey.

It is easy to speculate on the wages thing based on press reports, but the truth is none of us know the true extent of players contracts and I'm pretty sure Aston Villa are paying out some big money... the whole game is insane.

I have and carthorse is not the right phrase. He struggled to find his game and much of that was down to confidence/self belief. Zola who was an immense footballer highly rates him and Zola's appointment at West Ham has coincided with Carlton Coles best form of his career, Zola has given him the belief and confidence. His work rate is superb, as a striker he is not an out and out goal scorer, but he can be a handful for defenders, highly professional in that he does the job and has a deft touch. And I tell you the other good thing about him - attitude, he got some serious stick over Upton Park, he rode it out and at the moment has proved the doubters wrong, I really hope he continues in this way, I like the guy, he deserves the respect of fans unlike Reo Cock of course!;)

Tell you something weird about that list, a few of those players are the remains of the Leeds team just before they sank, Newcastle got a few of them for cheap and a couple of years later Newcastle went to shit, a couple ended up at West Ham and youse were incredibly lucky to stay up....

That bunch of dirty Leeds bastards are a proper curse

But when they went to West Ham it wasn't the season where we stayed up, but the one after where we spent pretty much the whole season in 10th :)

I hope Spurs don't go down so we can laugh at them again next season after they go on about their new most expensive signing and how they're going to take over the entire world and have a stadium the size of Italy floating off the east coast.
