So, where you off to for the summer hols ?

Seville and Mallorca but circumstances led me to booking the hotel and apartment before the flights. I've now found out that there are no flights into Seville on the date required.

It'll need some minor adjustments (probably lengthened by 2 days or shortened by one) but I've got 5t3IIa on the case, so no drama.

She's good that 5t3IIa - she sorted out my flights to Vancouver and San Francisco for me on Monday  :D

Poole for a week with my brother's family and my parents, renting a house right on the beach. I demand wall-to-wall grandparental childcare and barbecues for every meal, including breakfast.
Just over a week to go and I can't wait. I really need a break.
View from the back garden of the house we're staying in:

That will do very nicely :)

I just spent a few days in Kalkan (south of Turkey). It was wonderful, I'd really recommend it. Great food, amazing views, very relaxing. I've been all over Turkey so it takes quite a bit to impress me but Kalkan really did.

Friend of mine has just come back from there. Everyone I know who's been there loves it.

We went there in May and loved it. As well as enjoying the food/cocktails I went for a hammam, went to visit some ancient sites and walked through Salkikent (?sp?) gorge. The latter was quite scary - being waist deep in swishy water!

We got chatting to quite a few people over drinks on a night (Café del Mar mainly) and nearly everyone we met had been several times before.

I think we will be able to go on holiday now, as cat care is no longer an issue - although not until September. Just need to decide where to go. I suspect we will end up in Newquay.

Just checked in for my flight to Hanover on Thursday. Hoping the Germans get into the World Cup Final on Sunday, so I can go down the boozer and cheer them on against the Argies or the Dutchies.

I've already been campervanning it a few weekends in the Shropshire Hills and am planning on going again in a couple of weeks. Then off to Shell Island for 6 days, then off to Shambala a couple of days later.

Hey downwarddog, i get the impression you may know carcasonne. Any ideas on good places for veggie food as it does not get much of a mention in any of the guides? Cheers.

but wait.. theres more

as part of the trans europe camping trip, we have had to book the odd night in a hotel

Slovenia- Titos old summer villa at lake Bled has been booked

You can feast your eyes on this at breakfast-feast on its magnificence

Love torquay, south dartmoor, but reminds me of mrs richards.

not me , its the girl. 4 hours in surgery last n ight. trying to get them repatriated and I can drive back with all the shite. may well post "offered- everything you fucking need for a camping holiday" in the recycle section later

Nowhere.
I have a ticket booked for Japan next week, but I can't go. My wife and daughter will still be going, i'll do some tiling or something.

Oh how terrible for your little one and for both your family holidays not going as planned.

I came back from Benidorm last Wednesday and had a really good time! I was very glad it was a apartment and not a hotel..some highlights..sunshine and in bikinis till past 8pm, San Miguel x2 for 1 Euro from local shop, the beach is huge and very clean, Aqualandia water park and I mostly bimbled along with family I don't see all that often

Lowlights were being a veggie so no seafood and I don't like eggs. I found finding healthy tasty food a chore when eating out.

Off to Biaritz and Carcossone by way of Andorra later in the year for two weeks, we weren't going to do France this year but had a week in Lac du Vassaviere in spring and loved it so much we had to go back

(Can't wait) doing a week in Ireland whale watching first but just thinking about France

We're going to shell island. prob Monday, trying to leave.... But Mr is terrible in the morning so will leave later today hopefully get to Barmouth, camp, have a days walking, swimming etc then in to shell island.
....

Been to gran canaria twice this year, also had a couple of short breaks on the borders but once babysitting duties are over, heading off again, thinking mebbes the Greek Islands ( I wanted to go somewhere in the Caribbean ) but the boss has vetoed the idea as we can only go for holidays a week at a time and she reckons if we went that far we would only be just getting over the jet lag when it would be time to return.

I went to Boomtown and Bat Country. Also a wknd of camping near Lewes. I wasn't earning for the first six months of the year so birthday trip to Berlin/Hamburg has been put back a couple of months.

We've just got back. I bloody love the place. I'm going to miss the view tomorrow morning . There's nothing like stepping out of the van in the morning onto warm sand
