So what'll happen to London if that cnut gets in?

Sorry, I'm mistaken :o I just checked here http://questionthat.me.uk/2008/03/ken-vs-boris-on-issues-3-housing.html
to be sure

sorry for the massive cut and paste!

His policy is bad!!

We're fucked :(

To be honest, it doesn't look much difference from current 'affordable housing options' - in the boroughs I want to live in (Hackney, haringey, lambeth, Southwark) I could get a place I could afford on my wage in one place on offer in White Hart Lane in Tottenham....:hmm: Many places on offer want people to have a minimum wage in the £30,000 which is a rather high wage....

Are you seriously suggesting the anti-racist festivals have driven voters into the arms of Boris?

Not in themselves. It's all part of a wider, cumulative effect. A series of increasing irrtitations at all the extravagant irrelevancies that do little apart from act as promotional material which we've had forced down our throats in recent years.

I don't remember having any extravagant irrelevancies 'forced down my throat' when I was living in London - I think the anti-racist festivals, etc., could have been better promoted, if anything - but even if that stuff had been pushed on people, it'd still be preferable to the Tory cock Londoners appear likely to have forced down their throats for the next few years.

Except he hasn't said he won't abolish the target altogether. :hmm:

Is affordable housing shared ownership?

Rather, I'll say....:(

I might have to leave London on principle and go to live on the internet. NO. Damn him. That Tory twat ain't driving me out of London. It's gonna be bad :(

Anyone see the look of absolute joy on Andrew Gilligan's face when they were asking him about Ken on News 24?

It's not looking good, is it? What's the worst that can happen?

He will try to implement some of his ideas and our council tax will skyrocket.

We will lose the congestion charge and 4X4s will be free if you need them for a half mile school run.

he'll give free bus travel to private school children only, so the buses are filled with braying twats who talk with an affected lisp, he'll shag Veronica Wadley cos she got him elected and the streets will be filled with blond-haired-bigots mugging innocent passersby with copies of free rags, and some bastard son-of-routemaster will be introduced that increases the rates of pedestrian and cyclist casualty rates to such an extent that he can abolish the congestion charge cos there's no-one left on the roads.

and that's me being optimistic.....:(

Most of the changes won't show up for a while, when budgets are changed and contracts run out, so people might think it's OK to start with. Then it'll change. Lots of community groups will lose funding. Free fun stuff will happen less often. Tube improvements will be delayed. Bus fares will rise, in order to fund abolishing the congestion charge. And the whole world will see him representing us at the Olympics. :(
