Nigel's Garage hints at doing a deal with the Tories next year... according to the Torygraph.
Nigel Farage has suggested he is prepared to do a deal with Conservatives ahead of the next election if they surrender working class seats in Essex and Kent.

Mr Farage said that if he was David Cameron, he would offer to give up 30 seats where the Tories are currently trailing behind Labour to give Ukip a clear run.

In exchange, he suggested that Ukip could agree not to fight the Conservatives in marginal seats in more affluent, middle-class areas such as Dorset.

The move would give Ukip a free-run in areas where Margaret Thatcher, the form Conservative leader, previously made ground for the Tories with her focus on the so-called "Essex man".

The Ukip leader has previously ruled out any form of pact with the Conservatives ahead of the next election.

I bet Dan Hannan's creaming his kecks with the thought.

Well this series, to be screened in the run-up to the next election, might help them out a bit, brought to you by the same shit-stirring wankers behind 'Benefits Street'.

UKIP's Bill Etheridge tells UKIP Youth (an oxymoron, surely?) conference to "emulate Hitler".
Nigel Farage was facing a storm of protest last night after one of his MEPs was revealed to have coached Ukip candidates to emulate Hitler.

Bill Etheridge described the Nazi dictator as a ‘magnetic and forceful public speaker’ who ‘achieved a great deal’ – and said the candidates should copy the rhetorical style deployed by Hitler at the Nuremberg rallies.

Mr Farage is on the brink of formally confirming his intention to stand for Parliament in the Kent seat of Thanet South.

And
Mr Etheridge, 44, said: ‘Look back to the most magnetic and forceful public speaker possibly in history. When Hitler gave speeches, and many of the famous ones were at rallies, at the start he walks, back and forth, looked at people – there was a silence, he waited minutes just looking out at people, fixing them with his gaze.

This almost reminds me of David Bowie's comments in 1976 when he said

"Adolf Hitler was one of the first rock stars. Look at some of the films and see how he moved. I think he was quite as good as Jagger."

These fuckers can't help themselves.

Jane Collins will open Ukip's party conference next month and last week the former equine physiotherapist was selected for a seat that the party believes could deliver its first MP.

here (Guardian, of course)

Asked what her political creed would be, she said: "I tend to see myself more as a progressive libertarian really." But on what that means in policy terms, she seemed determined: "I've seen the policies, I'm very happy with them. I think a lot of them are libertarian policies.

"There is quite a high Roma Slovak community, and in that community hepatitis B is at a lot higher rate than it normally is in this country. We have got some health problems coming. We have to address those. They are over here and are now resident, and they will have to be treated, which puts a greater strain on the health service.

"And, yes, there is a problem that it could spread. It is 100 times more infectious than HIV.

"There is going to be a programme running in Sheffield to vaccinate all the Roma Slovak children. But actually why can't we vaccinate our indigenous children who are in close contact with those children as well?"

Farage talks about "throwing his hat in the ring" at the forthcoming South Thanet UKIP hustings to select a 2015 candidate...

The situation is that there will be a hustings in the constituency the week after next at which the branch will decide who they wish to represent them.
I have thrown my hat in the ring, but so have others, including a top-class barrister and friend of mine. It may seem silly to some that the leader of a party would have to go through the process of being approved and selected but, I assure you, rank means nothing in Ukip.

Of course I think I stand a good chance of winning. I have fought the seat before and it is in my home county of Kent and an area I have represented in the European Parliament since 1999. But with Ukip members, nothing is ever for certain. And that’s just fine by me.

The South Thanet tories have selected a former UKIP member as their candidate to ("probably") oppose Farage.:D

It's the big night in Ramsgate tonight!

Farage, who has been an MEP since 1999, will be competing for the South Thanet selection against Elizabeth Jones, a family lawyer; Piers Wauchope, a barrister; and Peter Bucklitch, a fellow of the Institute of Financial Accountants. The hustings take place in Ramsgate and start at 7pm.

"The people's army":D

...and a polling boost for UKIP from Populus...

Up 4
% to a record high for Populus..
This follows an increase in the UKIP share in the ComRes online poll for IoS/S Mirror – published at the weekend and the last YouGov poll have Farage’s party up from its average for the month of about 12% to 14%.

We need to see more polls, of course, but the theory was that UKIP would fade after the May Euros and headed for GE2015.

Well these numbers suggest that that is not happening.

At least one - the tory MP for clacton - the seat with the best national indicators for UKIP - is now an MP and on top of all that has a huge majority plus incumbency factor. Excellent political move. How many more in similar seats are lined up for the coming months?
