Snog, Marry or Avoid - BBC Three !!

Well the programme is about image and you were identifying yourself with the people in it, so I thought it was reasonable to ask if you looked like the Jodie Marsh Wannabes. Or if you are male the pint clutching meatheads in whatever dire essex club they were frequenting..

This confuses the hell out of me.

They look fucking awful when they fist turn up.

I do agree, but awful and fun vs frumpy and boring? I know which I'd choose tbh. I know it's just a silly and frivolous programme, but I start shouting at the computer screen when they line the girls up pre-make under and get vox pop blokes to go "she looks scary, she looks like a handful, I'm terrified of her" and then post make under "she looks very pretty, I'd take her out". Pretty isn't everything - who wants to be dull girlfriend material in what might as well be a twinset and pearls when you can be raucous?

Bullshit. Bringing someone's looks into a discussion is a cunt's trick.

what the fuck is wrong with a twinset and pearls?!?!

I never said you were ugly, I just asked if your were orange with tattooed lips, and if so, why? I was hoping you might be able to offer a perspective on why people choose to do that.

No you didn't, you asked how much plastic surgery I've had. FWIW I don't look like the girls on that show (nor have I had plastic surgery ffs), but why the fuck should I have to answer questions like that? And if you're looking for reasons ( why do you need a reason to dress how you want?), read my posts above.

just watched the 2nd ep. I REALLY like Jodie Marsh's outfit, and hair, and make up actually. Although Her boobs look too big in that top, generally I like her new punk esq look. as for the others they don't pull it off quite as well....

You don't have to answer the question, its fine. But as far as I can tell your position is that you don't need a reason to dress the way you want. And therefore people paint themselves orange for no other reason than a random whim?

Fashion is a whim, yeah. It's a silly distraction you can have a laugh with. Why do people choose one style over another? Do goths want to top themselves? Do rockabillies want to return to an era where women were in the kitchen and black people didn't have the vote? Are girls who wear short skirts slags? I don't really know what you're getting at to be honest.

I'm inclined to agree dressing in bullet belts is a thought free moment of spontaneous and meaningless self expression I think style is probably more than that. And I don't think its a gross over generalisation to say dressing up like Jodie Marsh means you want to be in Zoo and Loaded and there's is some horrible underlying psychological problem to do with self esteem... (OK maybe the last bit)

I've only seen it once and without trying to be overly rude, they look like tarts in too much makeup/too little clothes. Perhaps it's just me but massive fake tits and orange skin doesn't portray 'fun' at all. I don't think it's about them being scary so much as them looking 'cheap' fwiw.

I only saw one after the change and she did possibly look a little less fun in a 'lets go out and get wrecked' kind of way, but she also looked like someone I could actually relate to and more attractive with it.

I'm watching it now.

I had a little (six month) think and I hate this show. I love these girls, and the makeovers make them look boring and frumpy. I know girls like them and they are always the funnest, biggest, barrel of laughs. If there's anyone who's guaranteed to dance on a table with me, it's the girl in a tutu. Down with beating fun girls down

People can wear what they like, but I do think in quite a few of these instances, they're not necessarily dressing like that just because it's 'fun'.

I mean Jodie Marsh is textbook, she has low self esteem, thinks she look shit without any makeup on, and they were just showing her what people thought of her without all the slap on and tits in our face.

I mean it's fluffy wank, and blatantly edited to make the result they want.

The first lass on the bit of it I saw last night would've been fine with just less makeup/tan. Other than that, she had a great bod, so that whole 'cover it up' business was a bit wank quite frankly.

I really enjoy this show - it's bubblegum TV. And quite silly.

I do go around the house now saying" I am POD, who are you?" :D
