I can surf urban very happily on my HTC TyTn II :p

e2a: even using the normal skin (thanks to opera mobile)

Opera mobile is cool.. specially with grab and scroll. Makes Ftouchflo a little redundant.

(That's a wonderful app, Ftouchflo by the way, for those who don't know it.)

It's a custom version of windows mobile that can be used to replace the existing operating system of the phone.

When you receive your phone, it will have a t-mobile customised version of windows mobile. Installing a cooked rom will replace that with a version of windows mobile that they have customised themselves.

I found it really difficult to use the standard orange-version of the OS without pulling out the stylus all the time.

Ah.

I quite like the T-Mobile version :D

Some real world video of the Experia. Nice speed when selecting the panels. Also some pics of the ui here.

Apparently rumour has it this is an updated version of Windows Mobile 6 that has some iPhone like elements added to it...I don't think the phone looks as nice as the publicity shots (when do they ever?), it looks a bit grey and plasticky but the keyboard looks great (I prefer slide outs to those tiny blackberry/treo ones) and the ui is pretty neat too.

A good look at the X1's specs suggests that its probably the most comprehensively featured phone in existence.

Yep, let's just hope it isn't buggy and works well in practice. This is fast moving up the list of my possible next phone!

Man. How ugly is this? WTF are those weird keys all about?

"ROKR E8; 2GB of internal memory, A2DP and 3.5mm audio port, full HTML browser, "Real Audio (RA) v10 Microsoft music ecosystem" and of course the extremely unique keypad. The E8 sports Motorola’s first haptic touchpad design which provides vibrating tactile feedback as the user touches each virtual key"

Its a Motorola.

Its a steaming dog turd. They seem to have a special knack of making the worst phones every single time, perhaps its company policy.

This man threw his motorola away

Hmmmm you can get a Treo 500 for £270, add a £25 a month 02 simplicity with online bolt on (600 mins, 1000 texts up to 200mbs surfing) and it'll only cost you £570 for a year (simplicity has excellent get out too as it's only a month contract).

Tempting...very tempting...:hmm:

I normally hate Windows Mobile and prefer touch screens, but the Treo 500 was very nice.

Works best with Vodafone's custom interface and TV/location-based add ons though - they were very impressive.

No idea, but I was mighty impressed with the Vodafone's interface and location based services.

Hmm had a quick look on their site (which I don't like tbh, just not that friendly a site) and it doesn't look like they do. Vodafone still seem quite expensive compared to other networks...

WM6.1 confirmed for the Xperia, also it has a decent cpu and better battery by the look of it. Like the brushed metal finish on it too.

Apple just pisses all over that horrid Windows 3.1-like interface. I hope Sony's customisation is more than skin deep. The HTC Touch was a huge disappointment once the fairy dust ran out.
