Small bands who would be much bigger if they reformed

Talking about much, much bigger...The Smiths. Moz already sells out Arenas on his own. I reckon the reformed Smiths would fill Wembley Stadium.

And The Jam, of course

What do you reckon?
How can anyone think the Jam were small?

They had 18 straight top 40 singles in the United Kingdom, from their debut in 1977 to their breakup in 1982; including four No. 1 hits.

They played some huge venues too.

Dunno about that - I got a DVD of their final tour off ebay a while back, filmed at Aston Civic Hall in Brum. If they reformed they'd be playing arenas.

This from The Jam thing that's been touring, with a guy from a Jam tribute act replacing Weller. I struggle to see the point of this. Sure Rick Buckler thinks differently..

The stone roses with their original vocalist, garage flower or whatever its called is a fuckin good tune, I saw em at the Ritz in Manc before Brown joined they were really good, after Brown joined they good but inna different way.

The Fall (Brix, Scanlon, Hanley era)

But the Fall are on fine form at the moment, apparently. It would be a mistake for such a forward-thinking but always-staying-the-same band to go, well, backwards. Anyway, most of their hits during that time were covers - There's A Ghost In My House, Mr Pharmacist, Victoria, etc, etc.

Done Lying Down

China Drum (when they were punk)

damn right. Did you see DLD last year? still phenomenal....

Scarfo - well, i feel sorry for Jamie. Scarfo sounded like Placebo before Placebo but then the drummer fucked up his back (i think) and they had to take long break and missing the boat.

Jamie's OK though, he's in the Kills and hanging out with Jack White (not bad for an ex Blyth Power member)

The Pixies haven't *properly* reformed though, have they? I mean they're doing reunion get togethers, but they aren't making new material or anything...

Well there has been talk, it's been on/off really ... tbh let's hope they don't! It'll only spoil their perfect legacy :)

I have. It's all shit.

Including there she goes.

I was always shocked janus stark never did anything. A good slice of pop punk on thier first album then pissed it up the wall for various reasons.

I wanna say king prawn they wouldn't sell but i miss em. Vex red i think would sell a bit better in the more emo enviroment we find ourselves in. They were quality.

Some of the bands listed are silly led zepplin, nirvana, guns n roses are small bands??? Oh and heres a hint nwa can't reform one lost his voice one died of aids. i guess no one would notice is lil easy replaced his daddy though, they sound so similer.

We're talking about small bands not behemoths like the Zep. They used to book entire hotel floors and use motorbikes to get around them ffs. Not the sort of stuff you can do if you've been playing the camden toilet for 10 years.

Humm not one I know. I used to love them and saw them many times. Dolly Parton was my favorate.

I had a listen a few years ago and it turns out they were shit all along. I don't think I have thought the same about any other band.

Must be the Ruby curse.

Young Marble Giants have got together for a one off gig, coupled with the Raincoats I wonder how much the Cobain factor will be influential ?

Southern Death Cult might be a goodie ( although still pretty shit music at the time ).
