Not that Slovakia has any Magyar influence at all like after 100s of years of Hungary round it's neck. (stir )
Anyway, if I had to choose a typical Slovak dinner off the top of my head, what I'd choose would reflect the traditional Germanic/Magyar/Slav mix of the region:
Gulash soup
Halusky noodles with goat's cheese
Palacinky pancakes with chocolate sauce
Zlaty Bazant beer from Hurbanovo (worse since Heineken bought the brewery ) strong coffee in a glass and borovicka, a rough mountain gin, drunk neat.
I have in my fridge, a bottle of home made Slovak spirit - made last year, with plums from the local trees in Nitra & lovingly distilled in a traditional Sloavak country cottage by the menfolk of the town.It is as clear as fresh rainwater & untained by modern chemicals or methods
Unfort. It is so strong , it takes the enamel off my teeth
