As for slippers, no, not at all unless I'm in hospital (Last 2 times I took bike boots)
Otherwise, your feet are meant to make contact with solid matter occasionally - firm pressure on your soles plays an improtant secondary role in your circulatory system IIRC.
I'm also convinced that one of the reasons I've had good foot health compared to all my relatives who have had a terrible list of foot probs is because I've never willingly coddled-up my feet in these horrible fungus/foost & parasite harbours.
