Sleeping in my car in London

Apparently there used to be a guy who worked at Newham Council, who had a house down in the west country or somewhere, and didn't want to buy in London, so he just drove in on Monday morning, slept in his car Monday to Friday and then drove back down SW on Friday evening.

He must have used the work showers...

i knew someone at camden council who used to sleep at heathrow, i think he lived in sussex somewhere, couldn't be arsed with leaving early, so he'd head for heathrow after last orders, sleep there, then get the train back in the morning, after using the facilities there

I got called out to a man 'unconscious' in a car, who was just having a kip - busybody who called didn't even bother to try and wake the man up - and before you ask, it was a 'nice' area and the man was wearing doctor's scrubs (and was a doctor) so it would have been reasonable to make some attempt before calling 999.

Good point about the DrinkDrive limit Trashpony. I'll only have a couple (spread over the evening) at the Albert so that won't be an issue.

Or I might not drink at all and head out of town to park up after Offline.

As for running the engine I'll have a sleeping bag but if the weather is gonna be really cold I'll wimp out and join my friends on the bus the next day!

If you're thinking of sleeping in your car in the Brixton area I would recommend driving up out of Brixton centre a bit - along Coldharbour Lane towards Camberwell and then turn left - roads around Myatts Fields are generally quiet (but avoid Knatchbull and Calais Roads as they have quite a lot of traffic)

I'm seriously considering doing this on Friday night, before going to the anarchist fair on Saturday.

I know I shouldn't but if I do is there a least worst spot to do this sort of thing?

Anywhere off the beaten track where I ain't likely to get hassled?

A couple of forest approaches are quite, such as the one on tetner lane leading to osterley park - you will get woken by the animals.

And in wanstead , northumberland avenue
