Hoping it's before the tour tbh, I find it hard to believe they're going to do a tour of that size simply because they're"taking off", but of course I might be bang wrong

The lyrics about being shirty about liking Rioja and being middle aged and miserable in a pub are quite close to the bone.:D

Having listened to a few albums I'm open minded to the idea that he might have a case to answer.

  19. Just getting around to listening to these guys.

Is this stuff supposed to make me feel like a dirty scrounger?

Cringey sloganeering and boring rock that hasn't moved on since Buzzcocks and suicide who were both brilliant.

lol guess this opinion isn't going to be well received on urban. :D It just sounds dated and nostalgic to me. like a middle aged man ranting in my ear.

It is a middle aged man ranting in your ear. That's kind of the point.

  23. Would probably enjoy his ranting over 250 bpm speedcore beats, too slow.

I'm sure this read The Buzzcocks and PIL at the weekend...

  25. yay it was called not listening properly lol.

Don't take my views on punk too seriously, it's not necessarily my generation or cultural context. :)

in fact, i haven't listened to any rock or metal this year which might surprise some...

  27. Yh post-punk.

    Leftfield/experimental rock more generally.

i wouldn't call Henry Cow rock either, but yeah avant-prog so there you go.

Yeah I was just about to post that, thanks to live forum I noticed your post before I posted mine, but then I proceeded to post another song off the EP before realising it had already been posted in this thread (T.C.R) :D

Saw them in Leeds on Wednesday. Had time to think about it. I wish I'd seen them last tour simply because they only did about 5 songs from previous releases (3 of which comprised the encore), HOWEVER that said they did all 5 off the new e.p. and a very promising bunch of new songs - no particularly radical change in sound but some obviously catchy ones including one with a chorus featuring the nearest thing to crooning Jason has been thus far.

Played exactly an hour, and I have to say there cannot be a more compelling front man anywhere than the aforementioned Mr. Williamson.

Best moment of the night for me though - filing out up some stairs as the man with the best job in music Andrew Fearns was tidying his laptop away...I looked back just as he was looking up at us punters leaving, and I gave him a raised fist salute, to which he responded with his now-trademark thumbs up and massive grin :D
