Slash from GnR's Autobiography

In Slash's auto, he said that him Duff and Izzy wrote about 11 songs before Izzy left and Velvet Revolver formed, perhaps if they dug those tunes out and got Axl singing, things could go again...

The Slash thing told me, most importantly, that Appetite really was a group effort, they all had a hand in the writing, in fact, just because Addler's face is half paralysed, that doesn't mean he still can't tear those drum skins...

Anyway, I'm a Gn'R fan to the death, as you can tell:D
I've got to be honest, my choice would be for a sort of mix-n-match version of the lineup. Fortus on rhythm, Slash on lead, Axl's drummer Frank Ferrer on drums ('cause I hate Sorum), Duff on bass and Dizzy doing keyboards. And if Axl must have a shred guitarist, then either Zakk Wylde or John 5 could do it. It'll never happen though. :(

Nah you'd have to have Izzy on guitar because he, Slash and Duff were tight as hell on Appetite

Abused as a kid, apparently. Which resulted in a near-pathological need for control over all aspects of his life. Then there's the fact that Izzy and Slash thought they were in an Aerosmith-style rock band, while Axl borrowed the trappings of a rock band but actually wanted to do terribly portentious, multilayered piano ballads like Queen or Elton John - plus the pressure-cooker atmosphere of enormous amounts of drugs and excess... Well, it was a miracle the band survived as long as it did.

Mind you, "November Rain" is a quality song, and one of the few rock ballads I've any time for...

That was a rumour that went round years ago not long after Appetite was released...

I thought it was the Use Your Illusion's as Izzy kept going MIA?

Although I haven't got to the Illusions recordings bit in the Slash biog yet!?!?!

Yep on Use Your Illuson I could see it but throughout his book he talks about how much he loved Izzy's playing on Appetite. I still want to know what happened that made Izzy give up drugs in a day...all Slash says it "something happened" and he freaks out and makes his dad drive from Indiana to take him home

Yeah, but 1) Izzy hates touring, and doesn't like being in large bands, 2) he's turned into Bruce Springsteen:

and 3) his songwriting skills seem to have deserted him, if his last solo effort's anything to go by.

Richard Fortus, meanwhile, is teh

And is made of Rock and Win:
