The problem is, despite obvious enthusiasm, they manage to say absolutely nothing. I think it's symptomatic of sky sports in general, I've seen some absolute shockers of matches which they've spent a whole half-time interlude raving about - presumably to keep impressionable people tuned in for the benefit of advertisers. Jamie Redknapp is a case in point, babbles on about absolutely nothing. Except he, unlike Kamara, was actually a superb footballer.

I don't see a great deal of difference, truth be told - neither give any insight. Kamara's commentary bears little relation to the games I've seen, I'd swap his enthusiasm for some actual insight any day of the week.

I will concede that Redknapp is unbearably inane, however.

Maybe I don't mind Kamara cos he's normally commenting on some nothing game that can't hold my interest in it's own right and so the most enjoyable bit is seeing a grown man get overly excited and mix up his words.

Andy Gray is shite - I complained to Sky when Essien got injured a couple of months ago - he laughed and said something like 'well, no one but a chelsea fan would give a damn that another chelsea player was injured' - callous bastard. No reply from Sky on the subject though. I think that commentators should comment on the game, not their personal bias for or against teams.

As someone who also lives in Belfast it pisses me off that Sky don't show any regional football - apart from a few of the Scottish cup matches. If they can show us all this Spanish football, world football etc. and all of lower English leagues, why can't they occasionally show an Irish league premier division or SPL match? Why can't the regional teams get some of the big money from Sky for a change? Just thought I'd mention it since this thread is supposed to be about "Sky Sports" and we do pay the same subscription here in NI as their customers in England.

If NI footballers are such shite why are so many of them imported into the English and Scottish leagues? And where would a lot of English clubs be without the Sky millions? More cash from TV would allow our teams here to improve, don't you think? Even Larne ....... perhaps?

Well, for our sky subscription we get access to lots of shite English football. Given the choice, I'd rather see a local team than one from the conference - and they could do with the cash - NI teams would improve if we didn't have to export all our best players to other leagues. Anyway, Sky claimed recently to offer comprehensive UK football coverage - when in fact they only offer comprehensive English coverage.
