fucking great, thanks for that.

Twats

This is terrible news.

er, i'm gonna assume these comments are because Skunk Anansie were pretty good and the idea of them reforming like money-grubbing has beens when there point has long since been made offends you. Not them or there music.

?

SA were a great band, ffs. In fact i'm not sure i'm even opposed to them reforming except that skins solo stuff was gash and its unlikely they'll be any good. But who knows.

Fuck you all :)

Skunk Anansie were fucking awful. Faux-anger, sub-metal noodling, helium voiced idiot singer. They weren't even a real band, they were formed by an A&R man to back Skin and then stuck out on the toilet circuit to make it look like they'd paid their dues.

i bought that 'charity' single cos i thought it was OK, all the other tracks on the cd were toilet though

I was wondering that too because Mark did join Feeder and he's still in the band as far as i know. It'll probably be Skin with a new band around her.

I kind of liked the first album but I can't imagine it would do anything for me ten years later. The rest was rubbish.

Personally, I always though they were awful shit with very trite lyrics but I have met quite a few people down the years who held them in very high regard. Girls, gays, that "sort". As long as they promise not to hurt anyone or start any wars and they play all their gigs in underground caverns and agree to donate all their earnings to the charity of my choice then I can't really see the problem with them reforming to be honest.

I remember, at the height of their fame, I went to get a sandwich at a cafe near Great Portland Street. I walked in and the counter was at the front, and seating to the rear. I couldn't see whether there was a spare table because someone was standing in the corridor. I was looking intently past them, and then the foreground came into focus and it was Skin - who was proudly staring back at me with a "yes it really is me" look on her face. I really hope my total lack of interest came across as I walked straight past her and sat down to eat my sandwich, leaving her resplendant at the counter.

Ugggh.

I saw what was virtually a Skunk Anansie tribute band supporting Public Enemy earlier this year, which was odd. As if one wasn't far more than enough.

There was a raffle in our S.U bar in the mid 90's. The prize was 2 tickets to a Skunk Anansie gig. Not one raffle ticket was sold. Ha!

I liked them because I had a major pash on Skin. I even tried to dress like her once which must have pleased her immeasurably.
