Skinnyman at Redstar 13th Jan

Wish I was going, I think Skinnyman's a feckin genius, love his words, and he "means it" man, according to some folk I know who know him professionally. Have fun people.

Only saw the aftermath of the bottling and heard nothing of a stabbing. Obviously we could all have done without that but it has fuck all to do with who was playing.

You dont think UK Hop Hop unfortunatley attracts a certain crowd?

I didnt see the stabbing either FWIW but me and my mates left before any emergency services turned up.
 
Well fwiw, I was there Saturday night. (thought I'd get to see you sus, but another time maybes..)

Anyway, I thought it was an excellent night, Great sounds, with a really friendly crowd.

I didn't see a spot of trouble or any bad vibes, at all.

I'm really suprised to hear rumours that it turned bad, particularly as we didn't even leave till right at the end...

I heard someone got stabbed. Dunno if it was the same bloke & of course it could just have been someone who saw the blood & assumed it was a stabbing. Anyway- I thought the atmosphere was sound all night & didn't see any moodiness at all myself.

Nope nor me really. Cept a lot of mouthy girls hanging around screaming down their phones at each other. Never seen this happen at Redstar before....

It's shit when this happens. :(

How did the guy turn out does anyone know?

not as sad as i was ( and still am ) when people i've known for years chose to believe (and libellously publish on the web no less) a complete character assasination of me, without even attempting to speak to me and hear my side of the story. You and your cronies at the spike have done your level best to destroy my livelihood and fuck up a wicked venue that we opened with the intention of making a safe space for the squat party massive ( since that scene has been well and truly destroyed by people who are actually violent, viscious scum). just in case you forgot what you put up pon the web about me, here it is - and i quote

I know that personally, I wont be able to attend anymore Unsound parties, which is a shame because I've been going to them for 10 years now (I can hardly believe this, but it's true) but how can I give any of my support or custom to a man who acts in such a way?
This was all over a dispute about some scaffolding ffs...
I feel sad that in our community there could be those so violent, and I have to say I do hope he comes a bit unstuck as a consequence.

No it hasn't.

while certain sections of the London squat party scene are no where near as good as they were, other's are thriving.

And out of London it's getting a bit of a renaissance. Bristol's back in the game for example.

I've never seen things like this happen at the Redstar before, and it's a shame that this has had to happen.

As I said to you when I apologised, no one reads my blog, nothing like how many will read this thread...

It was wrong of me to condemn you publicly. I took that post down immediately. I apologised.

There certainly are two sides to every story, and as I said to you already, it was wrong of me to take my good friend Pauls' (and C's) side so unequivocally.

The reason I haven't been to the Redstar for so long is that I have felt bad about this and knew you hated me for it, but not because of any organised boycott.
If you genuinely believe that this is what's happening, then perhaps you should take a closer look at your own actions. Our community is one with a non-violent ethos is it not?

I wanted to talk with you in person on Saturday and it took a lot for me to walk through the Redstar doors...
I guess I kind of belived that enough water had passed under the bridge..
It was Matilda, Harry and Steve playing ffs...Your world was my world.

However, unforgivable is unforgivable. I guess at least now I know exactly where I stand.

that's good to hear - maybe i just hear about the muggings etc - there used to be a few squat parties on every saturday without fail, with the crews involved properly looking after things and dealing with any trouble through strength of numbers - it seems like a few years back some crews came on the scene that weren't interested in keeping it safe, just in getting wasted themselves and cashing in- bristol was always avinit, and much more tight knit than than the london scene - brighton too- glad to hear it's al cool in the west again

Out of London parties have a completley different atmosphere they're wicked - pretty much like the Redstar is most times I've been there in fairness :cool:

I hope this hasn't spoilt things for you....

yes - there has been and still is a boycott of the redstar instigated by paul- not because of the pathetic scuffle at the gates of the spike, in which no-one was hurt at all ( if they had been someone would have been nicked for it- the neighbours called the police down there) - paul attacked me at the gates because i was barred from the spike after i showed them what a lying,theiving bunch of blaggers they are.I've still got a bunch of e-mails that we exchanged in which they clearly contradict themselves. Did he tell you that we went there to help our mates move their gear out because the previous night he'd blocked the way with his van so that they couldn't move their stuff, or that he cut the electricity to their caravan for the same reason, or that the next night when we went, along with 3 girls also there to help that he'd changed the locks, again for the same reason - don't you know what a control freak he is - practically everyone else that has had anything to do with him sure does. Did he tell you the same story that he told his mate Mark - that i went round there with 2 people that we have on the door at parties to get onto the spike to cause trouble, and that i hit him from behind with a metal bar. did he mention to you that we were there to help our mates move out or not?



for your information, I've never made the first move on anyone in my life, although i have had to defend myself once or twice - i wonder which story paul actually told you -

ask your mate carolyn if i'd been barred from the spike or not - and if i had, why - apparantly it's because i'm a thief, as well as a fuckin psychopath(there's such a long list isn't there of all the people i've beaten up isn't there)


paul told different stories to different people you know -- maybe all the people that had the story first hand from him should get together and see how they differ - from pretty much the truth , which he told to one or two of Reknaw crew - to whatever he told you - ie that i went round to ambush him to the most extreme version(as far as i know) that i twatted him frombehind with an iron bar (which sounds like attempted murder to me)

the real reason paul put this bullshit about is because i got him sussed mate --they're fake as fuck -
if someone was trying to destoy YOUR character and livlihood i'm sure you wouldn't let it rest until the truth came out ... same here
