Things like SHARP are much more well known over here though, aren't they? Again I could be wrong, but you see trojans and stuff portrayed in the British media far more than I've ever seen in the American media.

It's not fair, no, and I've defended skins alongside US skins on US boards and so on, but it's the sort of thing that does get used casually, and I don't think it's that fair to pounce on somebody for using the term that way unless they're obviously doing it deliberately - point it out in no uncertain terms, sure.

It's safer to use the word 'some' DC that way you are not denigrating a whole demographic.

Most skinheads in the UK for example, (the traditional kind) do not all fit the model you have experience of. FYI

That is true, but it doesn't stop it being a stereotype. There's skinheads all over the world who love the music, fashion, style and attotude who's politcs are vehemently not fascist/white power.

The original wave in 1968-69 were arguably the most racially integrated fashion suc-cult there was. Through Mods and Skinheads sould and reggae became the music of a generation of white working class kids. All the more ironic given the stereotype.

I have two older brothers, one was a skinhead for a while and the older one a mod. We are not White.

Most times I am patient, but 29 years of it on and off and on a forum that is supposed to be against stereotyping it's a bit annoying.
