Pulse & Ritzy in Lincoln a couple of times, the horrible shed that is the Sheffield Roxy.

Kristy's Nitelife in Gainsborough. I went twice when I was 16/17. The first time I got chucked out and the second time I got punched in the face. Classy place.:p

none of the really skanky ones, but the CAthouse in Glasgow which is similar in attitude if not music, was my stomping ground for many a year..

The Cathouse aint that bad IMO and it isnt full of neds and sengas. Rooftops, Fookies, Savoy and Viccies are more the sort that are full of drunk minors. Fortunatly I have never been to any of them, I was more into getting stoned when I was under 18.

Spangles... I was also a regular at The Venue between the ages of 16-18 - every Friday and most Saturdays - you're a similar age to me, so we'd have been there at the same time I imagine!

Same here - I bet our sweaty, DM-clad feet trod the same Newquay Brown-soaked carpets many a night...

I've always been very averse to going to shit cheesy clubs, so have mercifully avoided most of the ones already listed. I did go to Mozzy Coast once with an old boyfriend, but it was more rock/indie-student rather than shiny-shirted as I recall. Also did one night at Wessex House (horrible vomit-stained Clapham meat-market), although to be fair my mates were probably the drunkest and most obnoxious people there that night.

Die Hard in Leicester, the one time I went, seemed to be full of people who probably fit the 'kev' stereotype. They were all scarily offit.

the room at the top in ilford

Oh God, I'd forgotten about a few drunk night chatting burds up there. :(

...and going home by ourselves eating kebabs. :(

Yes! Fantastic tatty club, went back there a few years ago 'for old times sake' and I felt old enough to be everyone's dad!
A few shandies in The Duchessa to warm up..?

No-one's mentioned Zens in Dartford yet:eek:
a mixture of let's get pissed and grope and "are you looking at my pint you slaaaag" groups..
..er...went quite a few times now I think about it:D
Another bon-bonee's punter here, but I went on Wednesdays when it was cool, sort of like the industry night;)
then I graduated onto Equinox (WOW a club in the centre of London! thought an excited Bang) but once was enough..
..Hollywoods in Romford anyone??
And what's all this knocking Camden Palace business anyway?! my first all nighter so that place will always hold a place in my heart..

eta: the broadway boulevard in ealing :o

I only went there the once, I swear it.

Not as bad as The Red Rooms, opposite the station :o

Oh, and Pier Pressure in Aberystwyth.

It's called Pier Pressure. Cos it's on the pier. lol.

boundary bluration between "back in the day" clubbing and naffness, remember beach party all dayers (think club tropicana) at venues in north and east london, in fact i think one bar was called tropicana, on barking road

..and possible my first underage "club" experience, what was the red house, corner of ley st and eastern avenue, 1980, the doorman must have turned his back for a second; didn't last long however, the barmaid pointed and loudly declared me (three of us) underage, cue rough exit

I saw someone get stabbed in the bum in Hollywoods

@pinky - it was the duchessa about 20 years ago :o

no...I've just remembered I did as well?! this would have been around 7/8 years ago..happened to a white guy??
or maybe stabbing in the bum was a regular Hollywoods ritual:eek:

I once, much against my better judgement, went to Mr.Smith's nightclub in Warrington with some of my mates from Sixth Form. One mate had left school at 16 and was working in his mum and dad's greengrocer's so we all drove down in his van, suited and booted and already pretty pissed. I tried talking to a few people inside but soon gave up and decided to watch in disgusted admiration as my mate managed to persuade girls to go and have sex amongst the vegetable matter in the back of his van. That boy sure had the gift of the gab, not to mention the soft cushioning of the cabbage. :)

Gossips - Carlyon Bay, St Austell.

Where many a Cornish youff went to drink and/or fight and/or pull.

It was a hole, but it was the hole i grew up in. :D Good times.

It's rumble now though, executive holiday flats. :(

used to go to Blue Orchid everyone once in a while on a thursday night (schoolnight).. (we're talking '94-'96 here).. was £1 a pint night.. pints were watered down and acidic fosters. mmmmmmm-mmmmm. did occasionally have a laugh tho. :o

then managed to (shockingly easily) get up and go to school on a friday... :D

ps. for those that care, Langtree's (which has been shut for some time now) is about to reopen as the extended Bridge Bar... Beckenham watch out!

We're talking about proper awful clubs right?

I've been Gossips (soho) but for a metal night so that's ok.

Camden Palace (palais what?) but for hard house so that's absolutely fine (no disputes!).

But then I'm not quite 25 yet. :p

I've often wondered about this. Is it possible to water down draft lager? It's all in pressurized barrels, so you'd have to tamper with the pump or something? More bother than it's worth I reckon. Unless it's just recycling drip trays. Mmmm.

Class post :D

I used to go to NE1 to happy hardcore nights when I was about 15 or 16, everyone was underage and off their tits on Hooch and crap speed. - despite having OVER 21 ONLY bold printed on a shit photocopied flyer. Was a load of shite really but I had the puffa jacket with some neon tag on the back - anyone remember them?

I used to go there - remember when it got a metal detector installed in the entrance? :D

Except it wasn't happy hardcore nights I went to - mine were indie ones.

Countless ones in Newcastle, the best being the floating boat of dreams, the Tuxedo Princess : with her revolving dancefloor of chance D

haven't heard anyone say senga for fucking ages....I would have been seen dead in teh Cathouse when I did live in Glasgow but I have been to Rooftops. Was the location of an ill fated "breakdance" episode.

OMFG!

I had all but erased that place from my memory. 80's Bigg Barket places were something else too! :D

You went to those too!

Mosquito coast wasn't so bad though IIRC. At least not for the student nights... I also liked Bar Gaudi.

Bar gaudi was cool, they served Hoegaarden years before it was popular
