No girlfriend at the moment, then.
I have had one for 4 and a half years actually.

She is of the same opinion.

If I was going to wear some pointless metal on my body I'd at least make it something interesting, like a chunk of Uranium (encased in a lead locket of course) on the end of a necklace.

platinum! although it's insanely expensive.

Normally I prefer white gold or silver. Silver is a pain in the arse to keep clean, though, which is why platinum and white gold are better.

I was at a jeweler recently and tried on a beautiful necklace that was called 'confetti.' As it's name suggests, it's made of a bunch of silver circular discs that look like confetti. I asked her how on earth you'd clean that! She said it was Rhodium-coated so it doesn't tarnish that easily. I guess that's the new thing. I wonder if that works..

You need to lighten (brighten) up.

Silver only tarnishes if you don't wear it.

I have a lovely silver bangle that I have to clean every time I wear it, only because I wear it about once a year  The stuff I wear all the time never needs cleaning.

Some old pokey leather thong with a bit of wood stuck on it

I detest formal jewellery - gold chains, rings, silver fucking studs. URGH

I like Les Nereides jewellery, and currently am loving this:

silver, gold makes my skin look really sallow and awful, but then I have properly Celtic white skin.

I have a really beautiful rose gold Albert chain that I was given for my 18th, but I've never worn it.

Im the same. Proper gold looks awful and tacky against my pail skin!

I'm allergic to white gold - or rather, to the rhodium that they plate it with to make it appear white! I had to get it all taken off my wedding ring, and it still made me itch. I changed to a silver one eventually.

Silver - even my wedding ring's made of it. Never had a problem cleaning silver - just use "silver dip" or soap & water plus a soft towel.

My earlobes go red, hot & insanely itchy when wearing 9ct gold earrings, and I can't afford a higher gold content.

It has metal chains, and great big placcy pebbles (actually, are they marbles? Dobbers?)

URGH

They're PLANETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God forbid jewellery might be fun  I like the thought of wearing spaceships and planets round me neck.

I've not found that. I have a necklace I like to wear every day that tarnishes after about a month. I only clean it once a year, but it's noticeably tarnished.

Silver..Just the proper stuff though. No plated rubbish.I used to wear gold, but then it got all "tacky"..the only thing i'd get gold ever would probably be a gold tooth or summat.Hardnut style.

Is that aimed at me?
It is if you actually wear something so monstrous. Really, that's not a good look. If you wanna look like Jacqueline Wilson, fine, go ahead, but it's not very attractive.

I wear my gold wedding ring(where it should be), a silver ring and a gold diamond solitaire on the right hand and silver necklaces, so I guess I have to vote other.
I'd go with platinum if I had the money for it :D
