My car's silver - as a guy at work (who has a brand new silver Renault Megane) said "It's easier to sell a silver car - they're popular"

I think this is one of those chicken and egg sorts of situations - people buy metallic paint because it adds value on at resale, but it only adds value at resale because people think it should add value

I chose silver because IMO my particular model (the new Civic) looked best in it. Though it's good in black too.

I believe some colours go with some cars and some don't. I've never been a fan of white but it does look nice on a few select cars, such as the new Fiat 500. Peugeots and the VW Golf go great with black, and the Ford Focus does get away with all sorts of unconventional colours.

Not green though. Green just doesn't do it for me regardless of the model.

When I went out last weekend to buy my new(ish) Citroen C1, I choose the red because the "silver" looked a bit boring.

I am always behind the trends. :(

Mine is bright blue, which it does carry off quite well.

I had a grey car. Apparently, it's the most popular colour. Go figure.

But it's also the hardest colour to see in a rainy, cloudy environment, which might explain all the accidents around here.
