silly kids downstairs

Best decision ever!

So, I just met the kids - who are different kids than I thought - and REALLY sweet.

It was not even a party. It was four people listening to music stoned. And it was the guy in between us on the 6th floor who was pounding so hard they thought the ceiling was going to cave in. THAT's who woke me up.

Yay for face-to-face interaction. 6D is gone for the day, but I will knock on their door again tonight. Complete overreaction on their part and I have no idea if security handled it properly either. It was 6D who woke me up and the whole problem could have been averted if he'd only gone downstairs and talked with them face to face in the moment instead of bashing away at the place.

well you don't have to go right now! :D maybe in the evening? :)

Not an option for me because of schedule.

I would like to say: urban75 has helped change the culture of one apartment building in Manhattan. Not the first time, in fact, as many an urbanite has stayed here as well. But now all the more!

I'm glad I didn't leave a note - friendly or otherwise!

Shall I pack my bovver boots when I come over?

Just in case, like?

:D

Heheh.

All will be well, by the way - another schedule update is forthcoming.

I feel sort of bad for these kids, now - their gparents are getting a call when it seems like the upstairs neighbor overreacted.

I'm still not over it!

I just have another thing to add - I think in the bazillion years that I've lived in this building, I've been in two or three other apartments. These kids invited me in - I walked through the whole place, even entered a bedroom. Amazing! (and they invited me to their next party  :D)

Did you ask them if they could get you any weed as well? I would have

;)

I'm waiting to find a time to talk with the guy who lives between us since he's the one who woke me up. Apparently, word-of-mouth has it that the security guard may have suggested that it was I who had been making the noise. So I think the guy may have been bashing on MY floor - I don't know.

either way, I want to encourage talking rather than bashing

What if they say, 'at least we don't puke up outside the front door?'

:D

I was thinking that after you said you'd puked :D Where do you live by the way? I live in a small apartment complex (14 flats) I've been in em all :D Most've been in mine too - regular parties are held between flats - it's

who woke me up like a herd of thundering elephants last night

Good thread, was just reminded of that Alexi Sayle skit in the Young Ones when he talks about living in a noisy tower block. Hearing what sounded like elephants riding bikes and a seal banging a kipper against a surface, he goes up to investigate. The door is opened by a huge elephant saying "what do you want?" and a seal in the background bashing a kipper! Fantastic.
