^^^Both are amazing and I especially love The Wind, which is still really thrilling and intense to watch.

Saw Eistenstein's Strike a few months ago with a new score performed live by about a dozen musicians. It worked out pretty well. Is Man with a Movie Camera silent or not? Wouldn't mind seeing that.
Did the Marx do silents?
No the Marx Brothers only did talkies. really?? i havent seen it in like a year since film school, i could have sworn it was silent, well i retract that statement haha sorry. regardless still an amazing flick for the time period.

that must have well and truly freaked people out back thenjesusthat must have well and truly freaked people out back then
such a shame that hardly any silent films (and very few early talkies as well) make it on to telly these days. you'd think at least that channels like bbc3 or 4 could stick them on occasionally

BBC2 and Channel4 had fantastic film seasons in the 80's, including a silent movie one. Before that classic films were prime time viewing. Now only relatively new films get shown and I think and appreciation for any films pre-70's is completely going lost.![]()
Also highly recommended are
Der Golem and Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari (both 1920) and Nosferatu (1922)
all absolutely great films IMO![]()
