Was one of the best gigs ever: "RAIN DOWN, COME ON AND RAIN DOWN ON ME" in the pissing rain. Later the organ broke down, "oh shit, we haven't done this one in a while." Then a loud crash into G major, 40,000 people go wild and Creep begins to play. Fuck man... that was as good as getting one on up on dub.

I'm bumping an old thread for fear of pogo fish.
Saw them last night in Manchester and it's the best gig I've ever been to by a mile :D Fantanstic sound and visuals and just bloody everything :D I even cried.
sod it, I'm starting a new thread

I am going to sound like a complete berk here but to thine own self be true and all that. I liked them from the off but they are certainly products of their environment - and when I listen to them in the landscape in the wilds in Iceland there really is nothing like it. The music just 'goes' with what you see and hear perfectly. One of the top five moments in my entire life has to be sitting in a hot pool up in the north about 40 miles to the nearest house watching the northern lights and listening to Sigur Ros - it was nigh on perfect. I am a hard hearted codger but I was teary at several points during the concert - as were quite a few other people I noticed. It might have been 'heima sickness' or just the sheer beauty of the sounds. Put me in pseuds corner but they are one of the few bands that can give me the sort of musical jolt that knocks everything else out of the mind. I get that it might not be to everyone's taste but there cannot be any denying they are fine musicians - Jonsi's voice is exquisite.
