The first time I saw an advert for "old skool" which I remember being "new skool".

when old skool suddenly started being used for 90s music

eta: 90s classic compilations + the realisation on hearing certain Oasis/Radiohead etc songs that I've left both school and college + nearly 10 non-working since they came out
