Fuck em we didnt need em anyway as we made our own tunes. Slammed onto a dat, cut em onto acetate and spin off 50 copies of vinyl that got slung around a few mates and played out. If people liked it then maybe, just maybe if you had the cash you could get some more spun off and they'd go out round to some independant shops. Not that it mattered cos everyone was after taped sets anyway. At the start it was about playing out and throwing a party it wasn't about the cash. Yeah the cash came into it eventually once the promoters came into it but it was still about holding the biggest and best Rave you could.
The criminal justice bill came in and took what we had and helped force it mainstream if it wanted to survive. Which has led us to the superstar cunt head dj's and over inflated prices. THEY call it oldskool !!!
So fuck em its Rave, its about the culture, its about the fight to party, its the scene. Its not what SONY and there fucking ilk wanna call it. So that they can put it the right section of Virgin Fuckin Records
