I think the best (and, coincidentally, easiest) way to register one's disapproval for the system is to not even show up. The lower the turnout, the harder it is for the resultant government to claim legitimacy.

My hope for the next election is that there will be a hung parliament, but this seems unlikely as the lib dems appear have selected a damp sock as their new leader. And even if there was, for example, a labour/lib dem coalition government I suspect that labour would still use some leverage or skullduggery to get the votes they need to keep passing more evil police state laws and to continue apace with such pet projects as trident replacement and the expansion of nuclear power

You might have a point there. Register to vote but don't turn up.

You seem to be forgetting the one time when voting did change things which was in 1945.

You mean when all across europe and even the US both conservative and labour type regimes all introduced the same basic set of social provisions - regardless of who won the election and by what margin?

I'm not even registered to vote. This is because I don't want the government knowing where I live and it amuses me to thwart their 'it is illegal not to register to vote' bollocks by recognising the fact that they can't fine for not telling them where I live me if I don't tell them where I live :D
