Should Oxford Street be pedestrianised?

I'm undecided simply because like Detective Boy I would want a cycle lane incorporated into it, as there aren't many other safe and direct east - west cycle routes through the centre of London.

Does this proposal include closing off the north-south routes as well? All vehicles having to go round via Marble Arch or Centre Point would massively dislocate the west end.

Not necessarily, not the main ones anyway. There would be scope for bridges at a few main ones (eg Oxford Circus).
