Should I spray the wasp nest?

The majority of them will be sleeping.

Last summer some wasps built a nest on the underneath of a Western style saddle in our tack room.

To start with we let them be, as they just flew in and out and didn't cause any trouble.

But it grew amazingly fast and eventually we had to get rid of it. I wasn't there the day they sprayed it.

However I still have the nest - it is beautiful but it reeks so I keep in the shed.

Do not listen to anyone else. You WILL get stung to buggery and back if you attack a wasp nest. Even small ones with only 30 or so wasps can be very fucking evil to deal with. (had one last year at work, boss dealt with it and it took him 3 weeks and about 10 attempts, with many stings before it got dealt with) This one sounds like a biggy, leave it to the pros sir.!

Send it off into the neighbour's garden before the wasps know what's happening...

This. Even if you're not allergic, getting stung a lot can be dangerous. Get someone else to deal with it.

Last time we had one at my mums house we just smashed at it with the hoover. Any wasps that came out were instantly hoovered. Then we poured petrol on it

I only got 5 stings off the one I bashed against my head, and they aint that bad (unless, like I said you are allergic).

You don't need professionals its just a wasps nest for christs sake.

This. Even if you're not allergic, getting stung a lot can be dangerous. Get someone else to deal with it.

How can it be dangerous? It hurts a bit, but it aint dangerous unless you have an anaphylactic response.

I mean, I would get a landlord to deal with it because I don't like them (landlords) and it would cost them money, but thats the only reason to do it.
