oh dear. I despair for humanity. People losing almost a quarter of their wage and they STILL don't care....
are Unison still paying Labour the political levy then, cos no union should after tricks like that...
I agree. However, I think people have been scared into not wanting to rock the boat in the current economic climate. Of course, UNISON could well have tried to educate them a bit more in a run up to the ballot. I think they got the result they wanted at national level, sadly.
Plaid has a useful micro-site for trade unionists to use to opt out of funding Labour. Just click the union you're a member of and its got a form there with the correct legislation comes up.
Apparently only a third of members are currently donating into the Affiliated Political Fund, this includes members who do not specify which fund they wish to donate to & are automatically put into the APF!!
