Should I go and see Athlete tomorrow?

I assumed the OP hadn't heard them before, or maybe only heard their single.
Don't get me wrong, if the question was 'Do you like Athlete?' i'd have said 'not really', but it wasn't.
But to 'Should i go see a band i've never seen before for free?' i'd say 'yes, why not?' after all they've sold a fair few records, so some people obvious like them.

But if the rest of us had replied in those terms, the odds are we'd be a collection of painfully earnest, literally minded, humourless but sensitive types.

In which case, we'd probably not be posting here.

We'd be listening to Athlete.

It all has a pleasing symmetry if you think about it.

I liked Wires as it reminded me of when my eldest son was born in hospital at Christmas time ...however the rest is very dreary so I guess it depends on whether you want to be dreared at or not.
