You wrap the various bits up in the tofu skin.

I'm glad you mentioned tofu because it looks like hamburger cheese.

Can you imagine such a thing?

:hmm: I assume you two don't live in London.
I do actually and there are no chinese takeaways near me that make anything I couldn't make 100% better myself. It's all gloopy sauces, weird plumped up chicken and either tasteless or overwhelmed with chilli powder.

There are of course lots of good chinese restaurants in the city as a whole but none near where I live.

Do it I fucked up and went to corner shop to avoid a take away and I ended up with a bag of prawns and a jar of phal

I am now considering sticking my fingers down my throat as I fear i’ve Dosed myself with botulism

I had a delivery man at my door earlier with a pizza. He’d got the wrong address. I sent him away. The kids all said they’d have had it but a) that’s stealing and b) it was from one of those dodgy pizza places in town. Ewwww.

One of the things I initially missed in Portugal but couldn’t give a toss about now is take away food . When I go back to England I look forward to it but most of the time I’m very disappointed. The Portuguese call it ‘ plastic food’ and say unlike restaurants people don’t complain if the food is shite . You can go into most small bars and order a meal of the day and ask to take it home . The two bars locally just ask me to bring the plates back.

A lot of stuff is actually shit as a delivered takeaway. Kebabs, middle eastern stuff like shawarma or falafel wraps, mexican etc, basically anything involving bread, shite delivered. Don't cope with transit. Same with chippy chips. Pizza isn't my favourite food but ideal for being delivered. Best indian and chinese I know don't deliver so will pick up.

Yep. There's been a glut of new middle eastern/Turkish outfits appearing around our area on Just Eat recently. Great food but it needs to be eaten straight off the grill. Fifteen minutes on the back of a moped fucks it completely. Same with fish and chips. Great out of paper straight out of the frier but soggy bollocks after it's been wrapped and taken home.

i can't believe it's 18-7 for indian. chinese is so superior.
you're in the states right?

Ive heard its hard to get a good curry in the US, whereas in the UK its basically the national dish (as good as). Colonial/industrial histories of the US and UK have their part in this

...and Chinese food in the UK tends to be cheap, oily and not that cheerful, whereas in the US its a lot better.

I once heard a theory from someone Chinese that in the UK most of the Chinese takeaways are opened by people from Canton, and the food from other regions of China tends to be a lot better

Only decent one I’ve found locally is Number 2 in Herne Hill if they deliver to you.

The name is unfortunate tbf :D
I've just had a filthy early Sunday takeaway from Kai Hung on Railton Road and thought it was great!

I've had kung pao beef which was tasty and spicy, special fried rice and some steamed dumplings. I really liked all of it. Free.prawn crackers as well.

You started well...most food is crap as a takeaway but pizza is one of the worst things to have as a takeaway. A pizza should be served very fresh, very hot, slightly crispy base out of a wood fired oven.

A pizza delivered is Luke warm, soggy and foul if delivered.

Danny, 8 tomorrow I'll be in bed, Tuesday and Wednesday busy at work, Thursday steaming out of town on a train....ill not get the pics .... To think, I used to have regard and respect for you
