Please read what I post carefully. I choose my words carefully. They mean what they say, not something similar. I posted that I thought it should be the case that any road user should have to stop and provide details to the police or any other person having reasonable cause for wanting them. That is NOT the same as requiring every accident to be reported to the police. The police should only be involved where people will not sort things out themselves and someone is trying to evade their responsibilities. In those circumstances the police should have the powers necessary to hold people to account.

right lets have a look at that again

The most important thing for me is a requirement for anyone, carrying out any activity in a public place, should be obliged by law to stop and provide their details to the police / anyone with reasonable grounds for requiring them if an accident / incident occurs owing to their activities.

activity meaning 'driving?' of course! silly me

I have nothing more to say on the matter. :(

What a superb example of U75 jurisprudence: take issue with a particular point (the difference between being required to stop and provide details and being required to report) ... and then seek to argue it by reference to an entirely different point (the definition of activity) ... fabulous. This place gets better every day ...

You are Sir Horace Rumpole and I claim my £5 ...
