I'm turning 40 this year and its occurred to me that there really haven't been that many Prime Ministers in my lifetime.

I know being short is quite an arbitrary thing but I've been pondering who out of the few I've endured was the most vertically challenged, the titchiest, basically the shortest?

Gordon Brown was pretty tall although Blair said he wore heels. Major was about average but he's a cricket man and no one who likes cricket can be really short.

I've come to the conclusion it must be May.

What say urbs who have more life experience than me? Is May the shortest?

Is there any information about nineteenth-century Prime Ministers? I don't know how tall Gladstone was, though his hobbies and interests would suggest a smaller person.

The way she walks is very strange; it reminds of something really strange but I can't put my finger on it. I think it may be the big friendly giant from the original animated film.

Whatever her walk walk reminds me of it is definitely some cartoon character.

Height depended on class too, in WW1
British officers were on average six inches taller than those from the working class heeding the call-up.

Thinking about it, the UK certainly had a greater variety in my lifetime than Germany. I'm the same age.
I was too young to actively experience Schmidt, but then grew up with 16 years of Kohl, followed by 7 years of Schroeder, followed by an ongoing Merkel. And that's that.
