selfish cunt are the greatest band in the world, and anyone who thinks differently is a dribbling fool. :)
well you are not quite right it goes
1: Ween
2: Atomic Suplex
3: Selfish Cunt

The thing about festivals, especially free ones, is that they give you chance to check out bands you otherwise wouldn't normally see. I've heard of the majority of bands playing, but i certainly wouldn't PAY to see them. Saying that though, this is a good chance for them to showcase their talent (or lack of, maybe), so perhaps i will in the future.
As regards to the DJs playing all the same old vacuous indie bollox, i do know The Young Turks have been to known to drop ragga, jungle and hardcore as well as the occasional baltimore/miami bass track. Took me completely by surprise when i heard them.

The Lea Shores are playing...they're a cut above the rest and nice peeps too from Peckham.
Hope they get decent sound.

Saw a bit of them at Latitude. They were pretty good. The singer looks disturbingly like Jim Morrison in his beardy phase. That's not really a bad thing though ;)

i haven't even heard of 99% of bands on the list... and i think i have probably seen or heard of more tiny london bands than the average person. but it wil be fun whatever, i seriously doubt that if it's a sunny day and there are a load of people i am going to be like "oh i slightly dislike this band herefore i am having a shit time".
You tell 'em. ;)

ha ha...last night i was ribbing him about how he is going to fit in with the extreme haircuts, pointy shoes and tight jeans that will be de riguer at this event

my guess is they'll go down a storm as they sound different from the rest and start a beards, beads and loons revival

ill be there...its local to me and FREE..the line up isnt THAT BAD..not what i'd choose but well it could make for a few laughs..and maybe a few suprises music wise, ill keep an open mind;)

im afraid to delve too deeply cos then i wont go..all i know is that bono must die are nu rave

..of the bands listed ive only ever seen the paddingtons(years back, i went cos the go team were supporting them at dublin castle)i didnt last long with the paddingtons..just typical commercial indie, did nothing for me esp. after seeing the go team who were MUCH more my thing

selfish cunt(again saw years ago..about 2003, it could be different now)he was a bit posey but i felt he had something to say which is well.. pretty rare..

har mar..could be funny in a small dose, sounds a bit like prince and well costs a lot less too:p cant beleive he is still around and playing with some guy from the strokes:eek:

I got there at 6ish and it was so packed and the park was under a load of rubbish, so much so i was frequently stumbling on it.

Dunno why they bothered, I couldn't hear the bands so I fucked off. Couldn't see the point of sitting in a field of rubbish when there are better parks with little or no rubbish.

Shit

Got there at 5 and sat under a tree not seeing bands and not quite hearing the main stage.

Saw the two crappest arrests ever. I think the police were bored as all the Barleys were well behaved.

One guy sat behind us was thrown to the ground sat on and handcuffed by 3 cops- then another 12 turned up as backup and they radio'd a van which came down the road with sirens blaring. His crime? To hit a copper over the head with a squeaky inflatable hammer, which they siezed and deflated as evidence. Had a word with one of the cops later and aparently they were going to 'let him off with just a £60 fine' On hearing this he told them to fuck off and they decided to take him in and charge him fo assaulting a police officer!!!

A short while after that a woman went up to the milling cops and complained loudly that someone had been in one of the toilets for ages. Two cops went and banged on the door with batons and a very sheepish couple came out to loads of cheers from the toiler queue. The police led them away to caution them. I did say to one copper surely it wasn't an offence to have sex in a portaloo. He said that it could be in some circumstances

All in all quite a strange day, with the best entertainment being provided by the law rather than the bands :D

Well I dunno what I went to on Sunday, but it was in Brixton and when I got home I could hardly move from having a) worn stupid shoes  and b) danced all day!

i saw a few good bands. i thoght the sound was excellent on the main stage and the weekender stage, but appaling on the "teenage libertines covers" stage (which was luckily tucked far away in a corner). selfish cunt got thrown off stage early for smashing stuff up, excellent. the Bishops were very good. their were lots of people in their fine bright clothes and pouts. i got to see some real life "nu rave" kids too. all n all it was an impressive array of different music, but a pretty ugly park.

i popped by early, saw Tiger Force, The Rocks & the excellent nu-rave tastic Party Shank who inspired a full blown mosh pit early on. Despite the predictions of how crap it was going to be it seemed an alright event, if a little overtop on the police/security front. Not enough shade though. Sounds like Selfish Cunt were true to form, how come they aren't banned from everywhere?

i found the crowd to be quite entertaining, good people watching :D
fairly freindly atmosphere too..always great to see people having fun..we even had 2 guys "hit on" us in a non threatening way :)

lots of really out of it drunk teenagers tho..these girls keep talking to me saying "we're teenage lesbians, give us a fag and we'll make out for you"..they easily got cigs from people but were too drunk to light them..:p

that park isnt too nice i agree..wish it could have happened in victoria park instead..

musically?
i didnt stay long ..we just wanted a walk over there more than anything..i liked the band with a drummer and a guy playing one of those silly 80-s guitar shaped keyboards..anyone know what they were called? this was about 7pm..they were followed by a more NME type rock band whose first song sounded like the clash..

what was har mar superstar like? my curious now..did he perform in a posing pouch?

That's Shy Child, I would have gone but they were the only band I wanted to see. And I've already seen them a couple of times in the last few months so I didn't think it was worth it.

Hmmm I reckon all the good behaviour was down to the fact that these two were patrolling and keeping the peace:D
