Shopping - what doesn't Brixton have?

Before I did that I had a paper round which I did from 13 (obviously no one is as hard as you Quimcunx... ;)). It was cold in the mornings but I quite enjoyed it really.

At least you didn't have to deal with the friendly customers of Brixton..:(

Brixton customers are positively lovely compared to those in Peckham. I have never seen so many rude people in my life as in Peckham Primark the other day.

soldering wire
fiddle strings
N batteries
cafe with decent coffee and cheese scones
Rosie's coffee is good. Dunno about the cheese scones, but if she doesn't do them, she may well be happy to add them to her offerings. No harm in asking.

Try Curry's for the memory stick.
Or Argos. Or better, one of the corner arches along Atlantic Road. There's one near the stairs down from the overground, iirc.

back in the old day we had a dolcis, a lilly and skinners, a C&A, an Our Price which became virgin, an independent bookshop, jackets - baked potatoe place, a 711, a BHS and a thriving second hand market...
...and fields, as far as the eye could see, wild boars grazing contently on the village green, travellers from afar selling exotic spices from the new worlds...

It was sheep, I think.

I have a picture of Brockwell Park with sheep grazing in it. ;)

eta - spooky - posted this at the same time as jonti - my picture is different though, it's on my wall but there's probably on on the internet somewhere..

- Haggis (no, M&S doesn't count)

Whisper it not, but in the month before Burns Night, Iceland stock a perfectly decent haggis.

When anticipated guest numbers at my Burns supper exceed the number of real Macsween's that I've laid out too much cash for, I have been known to buy a couple of Iceland ones for seconds.

Mmmm. Rosie's coffee is indeed very good. I'll quiz her on scones next time I'm in :-)
