Shooting at a Carl Cox gig in Venezuala

Such a shame...

The prescence of a visible metal-detector on the door makes all the difference....

RIP to those that went out for a boogie, and ended up in that situation..:(

I have played at clubs in Venezuela and understand from speaking to locals that from time to time shooting incidents do occur in nightclubs, as they do in this country also. Think the fact Coxxy was playing and the obscene death toll have pushed this into the spotlight.

Shame as the scene seemed a bit fresher over there. Undoubtedly this incident will tarnish the reputation of the dance scene across the whole continent.

Feel sorry for the families of the victims, having the images plastered all over the net.:(

ed!

Words fail me to describe the person who done that, bringing thier petty gang bollocks to a place where people are having fun and then fire indiscriminately on the crowd and murdering innocent people, who are doing nothing more than dancing.

:( :(

To be fair, they probably didn't expect to be dealing with a massacre when they turned up for work that night. :(

Yeah surely they didnt, but the security at the venue still looks shite.
even in manc the people going to be running our door have an action plan in mind incase of a shooting
first aid bags and trained first aiders being near the top of the list. Top of the list being prevention of weapons getting in in the first place.

why werent they searching for weapons on the way in?

from the video no one seemed to know what the fuck they were doing.

where were the first aid trained security?
 :( :(

This is a third world country (Caracas is the name of the city) and the 'entertainment industry' is not at the same level as it is here. Even when I lived in Brazil, nearly 20 years ago, shootings were relatively common - as lots of people have guns. And, unsurprisingly, it's the same all over South America.

Four people were killed and at least nine injured when a gunman opened fire in a crowded show in Caracas, Venezuela. Click HERE to watch the video

""I am deeply shocked and still stunned by the events of Saturday [3rd November]. My condolences go out to victims that were caught up in the horrific act that took place at this gig. I am informed that it was gang related, and feel so sad that anybody would act in such a manner when the event was full of 7000 people having fun. I find it such a sad moment in electronic music as this was probably one of the best set up shows I had played in South America ? a sign of real progress?et utterly hijacked by this mindless act. Again, my heart goes out to those that have died or been injured. This is NOT what the dance scene is about and is a million miles away from what I want to do, or promote."
