I have been wearing various versions of the velcro jesus sandals for years, and every single pair of them makes my feet stink! This seems to happen whether they are cheap ones from a festival or sports ones from Milletts.

My feet don't smell when I wear proper shoes, or flip flops, or leather sandals. But it does when I wear the velcro type.

It's not nice, because I like to slip my shoes off in the pub or the office or a meeting, and I can't when I am wearing those bloody things (so, I suppose the smelliness just gets worse because I don't give my feet the airing then need!)
